AMD Radeon Graphics: Freedom of Choice

    Scott Herkelman on NVIDIA GPP

Never had the pleasure of owning a BFG product, but was aware of their quality. Now that AMD has this momentum, they really need to do something about production. I can only imagine the risk of placing a bigger order and then end with surplus hardware, but it is clear that right now, the risk...

AMD Radeon Graphics: Freedom of Choice

The funny thing is, I was the only one (that I'm aware off) in stating stuff like that, specially every time that a front page post was released to inform of a new geforce driver release and the lack of warnings from kyle and the others about the included telemetry driver and how to remove it...

AMD On Board with New Video Card Branding

Not sure what are you expecting, performance wise, but at that resolution, all the reviews i read point the Vega 64 at the same level or passing the 1080, but not the 1080Ti.

AMD On Board with New Video Card Branding

Perhaps a nice reminder to other companies that open standards and fair competition has more value? And a reminder of how every single company that works with Nvidia has gotten a big knife in their backs... But, Jen knows his fanbois..

Dell and HP Resist the NVIDIA GPP Leash - So Far

Funny you mentioned that, it reminded me of past conversations with a friend, whom he used to swear that the image quality of Matrox was absolute and only ATI, on those days, was able to match them. Personally, I just replaced a Quadro for a Radeon Pro at work and cant tell the difference...

Fudzilla: AMD Navi Is No High-End GPU

I could be wrong, but I think I read a long time ago, that the main reason they created itanium was to eventually release on desktops and since it wasn't a x86 cpu, they wouldn't have to provide a license to AMD, Cyrix, etc.

Fudzilla: AMD Navi Is No High-End GPU

Which makes me wonder, why they didnt buy Imaginations PowerVR division, since they are or were for sale recently, because as far as i keep reading, amd and nv holds pretty much every IP gpu related.

Fudzilla: AMD Navi Is No High-End GPU

From Wikipedia: “x86-64/AMD64 was solely developed by AMD. AMD holds patents on techniques used in AMD64;[84][85][86] those patents must be licensed from AMD in order to implement AMD64. Intel entered into a cross-licensing agreement with AMD, licensing to AMD their patents on existing x86...

Fudzilla: AMD Navi Is No High-End GPU

That one is always a funny one, given that amd owns the x86–64 license, what would intel do without it.? And I really dont think that AMD was stupid enough to sign that “ace” away.

Fudzilla: AMD Navi Is No High-End GPU

I think the same thing, but with one possible exception, gaming at 4K seems to be too much even for a 1080ti, so one more gen is needed that brings 4k gaming at 60 to 120 fps, then coast. Then again, looking at the ps4 pro and xbox one x, they are already very close to 4k@60 FPs with "little...

Apple Warns Users When Starting 32-bit macOS Apps

I understand that progress takes effort and sacrifices, but at the same time, this bullshit of removing functionality for the sake of it needs to stop. Apple has zero regards for programs conservation and that can even be dangerous, i think. It it was a different cpu architecture, i wll...

Dell and HP Resist the NVIDIA GPP Leash - So Far

Say whatever you want to say about Apple and trust me, I do have plenty of issues with them, but I admire how they gave nvidia the middle finger and went with AMD, full on, regardless that nvidia had better gpus for their laptops and the Mac Pro. Same, to a point, for Sony and MS, at least on...

That one was forced, since the gold standard on those days was Glide and was proprietary from 3dfx. Nvida was small and didnt had an option but to support whatever was glide's enemy. Forced. Apple is a big customer and gave the standard, nvidia had to join, if it wanted to keep apple's...

Apple Plans to Use Its Own Chips in Macs from 2020, Replacing Intel

Apple Plans to Use Its Own Chips in Macs from 2020, Replacing Intel

Clarifing some info here: PowerPC was not an Apple design, it was based on IBM POWER cpu and worked on by Motorola and IBM. ARM has several different tiers of licensing, the highest one allows a company to make their own design, based on ARM cpu core design, which Apple has and already do...

I know, thats pretty much what i disputed on my comment. True, but if someone is a fan of AMD or is just pissed off at nvidia bullshit, if you need a card at certain performance levels, amd does has an option now. AMD Radeon FreeSync 2 vs NVIDIA G-Sync @ [H]

One thing I find interesting, as far as I can tell, Vega 56 and 64 can compete with 1070, 1070ti and 1080 cards, but not 1080ti and titans, so what more people really need? Per Steam survey, 1080p resolution is king, which both Vega can handle nicely, so why the comment always is that AMD...
