Its sitting right next to an hp zr24w which is calibrated and has pretty accurate colors and I in no way would return this crossover based on just colors. Its a very good panel. No pwm, great response and low input lag, all for $500 is a steal imo. Oh and bios access :)
If everything was equal, specs and price I would go with Crossover since they have more experience making monitors, overclockable ones also. WM is relatively new in the monitor space and have made primarily tvs in the past. Not saying anything is wrong with WM, its just if everything is equal...
Where in the heck do you see 75%?

It doesn't even get that close in synthetic benches. Less in multimedia and even less of a difference in gaming. If I were to jump to Skylake, I bet I may...
Have you looked into a Westmere Xeon? Roughly 100 bucks (and make the overclocking jump) and you'll find that Skylake won't be that much of an upgrade.
I would go large screen. Like 40in minimum. Its easily the biggest and dramatic change I have made to my gaming in a decade. If you don't really care about high hertz, big screen is next. The immersion is awesome!
FYI the ppi is about the same for these configs (109-110ppi)
4K at 40in =...
So, I bought when this came around the first time and I was shut down by newegg twice. They just wouldn't budge since the email they had for the purchase order was a Jet email. I emailed jet from someone else's advice and Jet forwarded the game code to me, but I heard others getting denied...
I see crossover recommended more often. They've been in the monitor business longer and thus when everything seems equal spec wise, crossover is the more mature brand.
Curious if anyone here has upgraded to Win 10 yet and if there have been any issues associated with X58 or is it smooth sailing? Hopefully I'll be upgrading this weekend.
Yeah, I've had mine for a week so far and its just been an awesome experience. Its just such a pleasure to game and watch movies on a large 4K monitor, and especially at the price, nothing comes close in my opinion.
Sorry to disappoint, not BS, just got my 404K hooked up and indeed the FreeSync option is there in the menu, I don't have and amd card to try it out though.
So got my card today. I must say, everything went pretty smooth for me. Ordered on Sunday, got my card today (wed), fulfilled by Newegg. Haven't tried getting a game code yet, will try for that tomorrow. My email should match so we'll see what happens. Overall pretty uneventful, which is a...
I was in the same boat as you and I was scouring the interwebs yesterday trying to draw comparisons between the 434K and the 404K. I couldn't really find anything, so the sale was too tempting, I can't imagine the 434K being worth the couple hundred dollars more. Also, the 434K has not gotten...
I keep seeing people say this, and while that may be true, can't you just run a 1440 custom res on a 4K screen. Hell you can run ultrawide, you can run 3840x1600 if you so choose. I don't see how limiting the screen space can ever be a negative.
I agree, the info seems to be pretty spread out. The crossover 404K at $499 seems awfully tempting.

Thread at ocn about it...
Where have you been? There's the philips 40in, Korean variants (crossover, WM,..), also the samsung uhd tvs and the 250pg thread about them, maybe something I'm missing. Not a ton of options but enough considering that its still fairly early.
I know a lot of people here have bought from Crutchfield. Has anyone actually returned one to them? All their policy states is that "larger" tvs carry a return freight fee. Just wondering if they consider 40-48 a large tv or not. If no one knows I'll give them a call.
