Even Metro Last Light was able to pull solid/stable mid to high 40's, with most of the settings cranked up on my 780. And visuals on that game was insanely, crazy good.
And in that game, when my fps dropped, i was happy. I was happy that Metro was giving a good workout to my graphics card...
I recalled speaking to you a couple days ago regarding the performance test that you were going to do once you got your 980 Ti.
So what was the big comparison? Did 980 ti wipe the floor, in comparison to the 780? Did the improvement increase ten-fold?
Was is still horrendous when entering the...
But....but....but GtX 980 Ti, can you really justify the price that you're spending?
This might be what Nvidia wants people to do, They deliberately tweak the in game graphical settings so that people will have to upgrade "sooner" than later. They even gimped the Keplar drivers for Witcher 3...
I didn't have time to mess around with the game much, but from the 1 hour i had last night, with my gtx 780 and 2500k set-up on 1080p, the game was running semi-decent to decent at times of just flying around
Gliding down, here and there, fighting some thugs, low to mid 40's here and there...
In Witcher 2, The combat was atrociously garbage. It was basically "slash slash, swing swing, roll, roll, (you get the memo) " Blocking is flawed so bad. You can hold to block, but it's useless when facing 2 or more enemies. And to top it off, it doesn't even properly block any good either...
I was lucky to snag $80 for all the games included in the bundle. Most people i know irl/internet cafe's don't know much about internet pc gaming deals, they just rely on steam or retail best buy copies of their game.
$480 AR for that EVGA 780 that was on sale last month
and $80 for all 3...
The only sad part about the 570's were the 8 phase vram on these cards kept blowing out with not even a substantial overclock on the core. Numerous cards got killed during the first batch. Remember back in the days?
I couldn't even talk myself into overclocking above 800 on the core, no matter...
+1
If the 570's had 1.5 to 1.8'ish gb memory module dialed in - back when they were released, I honestly could have milked this card till maxwell, and I'm fully confident it would have held its own on the current market releases.
But that's not the case. OP, you might as well just wait for...
Nope, it's still a slop fest. Random Crashes, sound loop, sound cut-offs, abnormal fps dips to the low 20's, rubber-banding, terribad net-code, gun mechanics and bullet allocation is abysmal, Needing win 8.1 just to be semi-stable.
I got a sealed physical copy from e-bay for $40, so i sort of...
Grab the 290, Save $50 now, and let Con Edison rape your bill in little increments month by month
or go with Nvidia Tech, reap the benefits of long-term electricity savings, sell the games, then just tpb it like a BAWS, never look back, and watch how all the pieces come together :D
It's a...
idk, maybe I'm being paranoid. But i remember one time where i was without a dvi-cable, and had to resort to hdmi, and the monitor would just boot up to a black screen. It took numerous tries and couple trips to the bios, to set and adjust everything correctly.
With hdmi you have to be...
good lord, I can't wait for Win 9.
Seems Win 8 is more stable in Bf4 and crashes less, but I'm not going to spend a whole day, formatting, backing up, replacing programs, etc.. on some touch screen-tablet like junk user interface which contributes nothing but mainstream propaganda and a...
It's up to you cannondale, whether you decide you want to keep the 780 or not, all i can tell you is this much, these evga acx 780's(while already SC to begin with) have some additional headroom to about 20 to 50 extra additional mhz on the core clock(without raising the voltage). Not to...
This is Nvidia's master plan.
Release the 780 Ti around $700'ish.
Then another 780/ final keplar product line that comes out months later, beating or coming close to the 780 ti, with a 23% slashed priced tag.
Trust me, I have a feeling it's gonna happen. As much of a Nvidia fanboi i may...
oh yeah, you were the person who -- wrongfully ordered a 770 2gb--->returned it back---->regretfully ordered a 4gb 770(after seeing r9 290 benchmarks)--->returned that one as well---> and now you're looped in RMA/Bizzaro world with your GTX 570 for one day, and your pathethic hd3000 cause you...

expect more of these threads to come in the upcoming future. Mark my words. If the Aftermarket coolers can't do its job due to AMD's terrible poor man tech, then it's game over.
The 290X's are already dying.
What makes you think these will be any better? 95c temps on test load for crying out loud. That's not even oc'd. Sweet BABY JEBUS.
Oh lawd, the things that AMD try to do just to gain some extra brownie points.
Shouldn't this game be played around early December'ish with a crap ton of Taco Bell right next to you for the added immersion?
Since this game has that Christmas theme/dark feel to it u know what I'm sayin? You folks don't know anything about atmosphere and adapting to the video game's...
lol, 290x's are already dying, and apparently the r9 290's are even more noisier and suspectable to over-heating.
It's like GTX 570 Vram Blow-Out Era, all over again. luls
That's what I'm saying, Nvidia's price cuts couldn't of come at a better time. Flexible timing to upgrade from an aged out fermi, while not having to look at the clock 24/7, waiting impatiently for maxwell countdown, while you barely get 30 fps on bf4 graphics - set to high.
I couldn't for the...
A while doesn't cut it, johhny bravo ;)
Had the GTX 770 been a 3gb variant priced right bout the same price tag as the 2gb version($330'ish) I would of went with that instead of opting for a 780.
Srsly, 2gb just doesn't make sense right now for 1080p. You gonna have games like Witcher 3...
lmao.
I'll sit back quietly with my 780 with similar performance, while these clowns throw their money away on the 6gb/12 gb variants of the ti, because. "Zomg, more vram = better e-peen and better for future proof"
lololol
I needz to have me some of that Geometric, hard-coded, hardware accelerated fog-tastic, physics calculated computation, u know wut im sayin son.
Once you go Physx, you don't go back !
The thing is, most games are fine with a 670 on 1080 reso, But are you really getting the most out them, that's where the question relies on.
Metro 2033 last light, crysis 3, far cry 3,, BF4, Arkham Origins with Physx, AC4, and the list will continue more and more. All these games i didn't...
good informative thread.
I have a 780 coming on the way, and since I've been so use to Afterburner and the good ole' core clock/shader clock way of overclocking, the Power Limit and the Temp Limit had be kinda rattled because i thought it would be something uber complicated to understand...
I've been with Nvidia since the 32MB nVidia TNT 2 voodoo era, I've been through the epic 8800GT era, I've witnessed lots of corpses lying around me.
Nvidia, just plain out, does it the best. Reliable Drivers, CoreAVC GPU decoding, support, reliability, Physx, scaling, quality, etc...
Are...
The thing with the 770, is that it really is a great card, holds decent down the road value also.
But the 4GB version is $390. For 1080p, it's not worth it IMHO because after a year and a half, you're gonna need a mixture of gpu processing power and decent amount of vram.
The Vram will take...
Most 770 users are 2GB users. This is fact. The 4gb variant of the 770 is $385 or so. The ones who have 4gb, have multiple monitor or higher res. But in this particular case, we're mostly concerned about 1080p.
Why not just pay $100 more to future proof yourself with a Baby-Titan? That becomes...
780 is gonna pay off in the long term. Trust me.
I predict Summer of 2014 when games such as Walking Dogs, the next Skyrim,etc... start pushing 2gb and change in Vram.
This is where 770 users will be upset about performance. Believe it or not, a stable ~15 fps, constant or not constant stream...
I would just jump on it to be honest.
You're getting a titan-cut for $485. You're getting EVGA, the most reputable and outstanding company that is backing this card up. You're getting 3 incredible value-riden games, and in which case you did not want, you sell them up on e-bay, and grab your...
lol @ all of you guys thinking you actually were gonna snag a 780 acx, for $360.
Not even Black Friday or Cyber Monday is gonna have this for less than $400.
And I'll bet my left nut on that. Guaranteed.
It's actually $484.74.
because of the instant $-15 off when you apply the promo, and then the $10 mail in rebate.
Almost $480 for a Titan-Cut? And 3 awesome games that come with it? I jumped on this ASAP. Forget black friday, if you want to gamble on Black Friday/Thanksgiving deals, do so...
