On a sort of related topic, if you have ESXi setup to auto-start your VMs in a particular order, is there anyway of cancelling this once the ESXi host starts? I have 9 VMs set to autostart 3 mins apart and there's the odd occassion when I dont want this to happen (patching etc). Any way?

What's your motherboard and CPU?

For reference, the GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard does not support VT-d passthru so in hindsight I may have picked a different mobo (Asus P6X58D-E probably).

What sort of coolers are you using? Am having a problem finding a HSF that won't impede the memory if all slots are full, especially if using RAM with large heatspreaders. The article below highlights the problem well. http://www.legitreviews.com/article/880/9/

And vCenter 4.1 now needs a 64-bit Windows OS which is a kick in the balls.

From what I've read, if you go for the i7, and want to run 24GB, you'll only be able to manage 1066 or 800 on the RAM.
