For that price it's a nice buy. It was never a $400 case IMO. They were charging a higher cost because of the included fans mainly.

If you don't care about getting a new case I'd recommend something that can support top, front, or side radiators. something like the Corsair 5000 or 7000 series.

I have used the Corsair 7000X/D cases as well and they are very nice. Still have them and I always seem to find my way back to them on occasion when I get bored and decide to switch hardware into them.

That would be the safest bet, but mainly I would think the space behind the motherboard and back panel would be the biggest factor. Just about any full tower or good size mid tower case would do the trick. Something like this.

You could be right on the $4K cost. That's another reason I'm riding out this rig for as long as I can. The prices along with more and more power consumption are my main reasons to maybe justify a new hobby by then.

I have to agree. The older I get the more I do things that make ME happy after years of makings others happy. If that's a shiny new piece of hardware that does it then so be it.

Every STRIX card I've had (the 4090 being the latest) suffered from varying degrees of coil whine. Seems to be common with those cards.

I agree with Nvidia/Intel being comfortable. I have been using them for years with no issues. I also noticed my 14600K at 4K is just 4 FPS behind the 14900KS in those techpowerup charts..:)

I haven't owned any or had experience with the power supplies you listed, but be wary of FSP. I have one of their latest ATX 3.0 1200W units fail on me and they have been nonexistent on getting a hold of for warranty.

That's all I've done honestly. Just installed Windows 11 on my back up PC and activation was done in a snap as it's tied to my account.
