In my opinion, Gigabyte has never been in the upper tier of devices. Yes, they are big, but not MSI/EVGA/Asus tier. Still, you can't go wrong with one of the Gigabyte devices. How old is the review of the mobo?

Voltage maxes at 1.175. IIRC, that is the top that a 780ti can reach. Yes, boost is disabled. Yes, I have an EK waterblock. Not really sure about air, only tested it quickly when I first got it, then I had it apart and under water. But water really is the way to go.

The EK 780ti block I have works just fine and the craftsmanship is great. I have a copper and acetal one, I wouldn't touch their nickel plated blocks.

Also, might want to rethink that motherboard, unless you don't plan to use the block in your loop. Asus uses aluminum in their blocks, so it cannot be used in a normal watercooling loop. People say you could run anti-freeze in with the water or whatever, but no, that degrades the cooling ability...

Most people do not like EK because of an issue in the past. The issue was resolved. I am running an EK 780ti block and it works awesome.

I just got my MSI 780ti Gaming from a member on here, and with skyn3t BIOS I can hit @1296/7800 pretty easily. Haven't even tried to go for higher yet. It is watercooled.

Yes, because testing cards at their stock (even if OC'ed) speeds show the differences... They should have OC'ed them and then see who came out on top. My guess, MSI gets a really nice OC because of the lower heat and power consumption vs. the other two. But hey, doing an OC test would make sense...
