Somebody may have already said this, but the video card will hammer your power consumption. If this is primarily an HTPC then onboard video will save a lot of power. There are posts covering this. Depending on the games, if you have a sufficiently powerful CPU and enough memory you could be OK...

Now I'm really curious too, and as I'm doing a new build I intend to be careful. The common thread seems to be a hungry video card. The onboard video users have far lower consumption. Second seems to be a lower wattage cpu, followed by HDD's that sleep easily and quickly.

What cpu are you using? I was using a AMD Phenom II x4 925 with a Scythe Ninja fanless cooler and the two 120's kept it plenty cool. I didn't o/c - nor have to u/c. Seemed fine. Maybe the better question is why is it so hot?
