Exactly, you can get the 2990wx, mb, and 128gb of ram for less than this CPU. Still can't wait for Zen 2 and TR 2 to keep pushing cores and frequency and keep pricing in check.
Cannot wait, looks like the son will get the 4790k and I can get 3x the cores and a frequency bump for what I paid for it in 2013...... we may be in the golden age of CPU's again!!
Now if we could only get some of this AMD chiplet design in GPU......
I hope we see some sort of a chiplet GPU where the system sees it as one GPU..... Might give AMD an advantage and provide us with more high end competition / lower prices.
I would like to buy another system and corresponding GPU but with no competition from AMD, meh performance gains over what I bought 1.5 years ago, ridiculous price to performance ratio, concerning product quality, and features I'm not sure will be adopted widely I really don't see any reason to...
The more I hear about these issues the less I regret purchasing one..... My 1080ti is going to have to last another year or so it seems. Sorry to hear about this issue for those who have purchased one already. Hopefully AMD can release something competitive soon.
It'll be interesting to see for sure. I'm still rockin my i7-4790k/1080 ti but really interested to see how this all pans out with a trustworthy review.
And the Ryzen used the stock Wraith cooler rather than a comparable Noctua.... Can't wait for the [Hard] review to see the real numbers might be even closer than 12% disparity.
Not the best looking chart but tried to put together some price/performance
