Hello! Thanks for all the great responses, I set up my system before I got any replies here.
The system is now (unfortunately) populated with 15,2 TB of data.
Mistakes I have done, I did fixed instead of thin provisioning, huge mistake, impossible for me now to move data over from a virtual...
Hello!
So I wanted to test out Storage Spaces in Windows Server 2016 for my new NAS I as I wanted to expand storage dynamically (with irregular drive sizes??) with parity drive.
I expected this to be very simple all done in GUI and done, that was not the case.
I don't have very much windows...
Hey guys, I had some economical issued and could not go trough with this at the time I tough. I've had some time in-between and really had to pull myself down to a C2750 level, so I'm not looking at the C2750 or considering if the G4500 could be a better option? It scores better on static tests...
Hello!
I'm planning to build a small little NAS running Windows Server 2016 and trying to use the Hyper-V hypervisor. Planning to run ReFS and Storage Spaces for storage and was considering running maybe one Windows VM in addition to 1-2 linux VMs.
And I'm currently down to either D-1541 or...
Hello!
I've been thinking about investing in a dual SATA docker making cold-storage retrieval easier for me (currently just have the SATA to USB converter and a power cable).
Would also be nice to have the option of cloning drives. And I was thinking since USB-C docks exist, will this be the...
Do you need the PCIe x1 connected for it to deliver power?
Also I have a FW 1.52 edition and connected it with two cables to M1015 in IT mode. But it seems to be running at 3 gbps for some reason and it has 6 Gbps capable in presiseres. How do I get them over to 6 Gbps? :S
The sub.mesa post have been proven to be completely irrelevant and you don't have to worry about it, I would rather take num drives guidance from this blog post
4k configuration will give you better performance, but nothing to talk to much about if you're not doing and aiming for optimising...
Wonderfull, after what I found from a little googleing is that this support M-DISC? That's what I'm planning to use it for, do you know if it support any kind of lightscribe or something? It's minimal information on Amazon.
So I wasn't really planning on watching many Bluray movies on it, maybe a few. But more on burning backups to BD disc, are these also region-protected? In was planning to buing my discs online from all over the world whomever is cheapest.
And are there non slim drives that don't have...
What blu-ray burners are a good fit for nCase? Are some quieter then others? Are other better? I Would like like to burn both Blu-Ray and DVD and how do I eject disks from it? I can't see any eject button? Only SW-eject?
This is good to hear!! :)
That is also good, where there every any plans releasing an official res?
Also seems like many are using the CPU block with a integrated pump, litt this cause issues with this since it's higher then the res?
Yeah I know about the FrozenQ res, but I've spoken with multiple people saying it's shit quality, screw threads gets broken easily and to be honest it even looks low quality from they pictures they themselves have posted. So I was wondering about an alternative to this.
Not in general, was...
Hello.
I'm looking to build another ZFS build. This time for my mothers home. I'm going to build in the desecrate and quiet Silverstone DS380.
But it is quite small, and I know some have issues with RAID controllers in it. I've been looking at 2720SGL and 2680 where 2680 is a little...

Is there any compability list of motherboards that's non mITX? I would really like an extra PCIe 4x slot in addition to PCIe x16 so I could run a 10GbE card in it.
Netgear GS108T and GS110TP are absolutely wonderful switches! I know they have a few ports, but do you need all the 24 ports? maybe 16 ports would do? I use the netgear switches everywhere in the house where I can't use one with a fan.
