most metal recyclers will take lead acid and nickel batteries and pay scrap weight, AutoZone typically pays a flat amount and has a limit (but they do not always adhere to it.) so depending on what you have the scrap yard may be a better value. technically you could save up old disposable...
I come and go fairly irregularly. But that is a good place to start. There was a bunch of scam listings for CPUs on amazon earlier today. About 2 weeks ago the HR department where i worked got scammed. I wish there was some 'one size fits all' advice here. But there just isn't.
the ghetto rig that is running these bleeds a LOT of wattage for the remainder of the crap components attached to it. and i have to use a PCIE expander in a very specific PCIE slot to get R mode to work because the BIOS on this ghetto turd does not allow me to configure PCIE generation and when...
Im running 4x 5700xt and the total rig is under 580 watt. But none of the rig is really built for efficiency, it was all price at the time of purchase. Even the cpu fan is a 2500rpm LED fan. Are A2000s better. Sure. By enough for me to care. Nah.
this.
5700xt cards hash at a better efficiency than even shunt modded a2000 cards. i only have 10 cards left mining and i am right at break even on ETC as long as the ETC network hash stays under 200TH. but even if it is a little over i don't plan on shutting down.
i do wish ETHpoW would...
just in the hive config file? was there any tricks to using a custom pool? ive been meanin to look and see how hard it would be to customize hiveos to NOT use any of the hiveos cloud crap.
really? my 5600XTs and 2080 supers are still netting 200% profit a day compared to the cost of running them. and those are not the most efficient cards on the planet. i like when crypto 'crashes' so i can mine more of it in a shorter time because everyone else stops mining.
there are some guides on moving windows from BIOS to UEFI.
https://www.maketecheasier.com/convert-legacy-bios-uefi-windows10/
honestly, it sounds like you would be better off savings things you want to keep on to a USB drive, then setting the PC into UEFI boot and installing a clean windows...
the OCD in me would have put the ends of the zipties on the inside towards the heatsink. that should work nicely though, the older thermalrights are still very good, most hat a dissipation rating of at least 135w, the coppers were well north of that.
well i prefer the Lenovo LTO chassis. i have never found LTO to have any long term storage stability, and i got rid of my last LTO chassis last year, so i am not up on the current versions.
i do not understand why people throw away stuff that is worth so much money, i just seen a post on a forum where a guy binned a complete b450 system because of an upgrade. i guess most people treat this world as disposable, me, i have been using the same plastic disposable spoon all week.
You could buy a old used VTR. Some are S-VHS and 8mm capable. They have TBC built in and you could pump that signal into even the cheapest capture card and have good results. That old equipment has a wide price range on ebay depending on rather it is 'collector grade' so just watch for some...
Very few manufacturers make crystals, if you want crystals you will have to sacrifice on quality some. I was looking at pudding caps and found the g.skills crystals on sale for 15$. I like them for what i paid for them.
G.Skill makes a nice set of crystal caps available with white or black tops. the buttons are up to rather you like clicky or not. and there are several ways to add damping too. ebay sells packs of dampers that slip on. the liquid silicone would be difficult but maybe a plastic syringe would...
i did have to send in a bunch of pics, CPU and box, my name, my ebay name, as well as screenshots of the listing and confirmation of my payment to the seller. i think it took me all of 30 minutes? and as a reward, i was gifted a new CPU, i did not even have to pay shipping. Seems fair.
i bought an EPYC cpu off ebay. it was listed as new, open box. what i received was a non working ES EPYC cpu in a EPYC box that had all the labels peeled off of it. i sent a request in to AMD to see if they would look at the ES CPU and if it could be made functional so that i was not out...
So you guys discussing wine and linux compatibility, windows APIs, and directx, thats all peachy. But you rip me for mentioning a free open source way to do active directory at home. Gotchya.
well this forum used to primarily be tech related, as such, i though the recommendation fit well here.
Seeings as how this place is primarily for arguing about politics now, (never-mind the fact that this specific post is about an OPERATING SYSTEM) i thought recommending a free way to not only...
yes, and that is an aside to my point. most of us have several computers in our house, maybe kids with computers, ETC. why not use SAMBA4 and AD? it is literally free, and will run on any old pc laying around, AND no more fighting local accounts.
I always just use gparted and make an image of the computer and then clone it onto the vm. I have never had great results with those 'pc to vm' utilities.
You guys know SAMBA4 can be a domain controller right? So like, a Raspberry Pi with SAMBA4 installed and you could domain join all your home computers and enjoy all he other features of windows pro also. I see it as an absolute win.
on the edges where the glass tubing is cut, you really should heat it slowly to a dull red and then let it cool naturally. this de-strains the fractured edge that can otherwise be a shatter point in glass. will this matter on your build? probably not unless there is stress on the tubing.
You can use a mapp gas torch. If you use pyrex wall tubing and a mapp gas torch you can bend it the same way people bend the acrylic tubing. This is on my to do list for the next time i do a water cooled build. I have done some glass work, just not combined it with a pc water cooled build...yet.
Openwrt = features like a enterprise firewall, reboot? Are you updating the base image? Hardware support? About that....
Ddwrt = we want to be a user friendly, free as in beer, openwrt alternative. Yeah.
Unifi usg series = we are a pretty descent firewall for the price. Usually we have some...
