Hey all,
Hope someone can help me with these characteristics but I am baffled.
Have been running my i5 750 with the specs in my sig at 4ghz (20x200) with 20 runs Linx stable (with the newest linpack) and a couple hours of prime. This is normally good enough for me as I do not do anything...
So because of WC + Crossfire, I have to get rid of my Xonar Essence STX (no available PCI-e slots).
I'm planning to get an Essence ST to replace it, but was wondering if there are any alternatives.
Pretty much the only consideration (in addition to being PCI) is that I must be able to plug...
There's no full mobo block available for this board, but could someone point me in the direction of a chipset block for just the northbridge?
Would a generic gigabyte one work?
Cheers/
Student bedroom with desks in an L-shaped arrangement like below. TV on one desk which I use to watch films (often sitting on bed) + play racing games, monitor on the second desk that I use to game. Ideally I'd like one 5.1 speaker arrangement to cover both needs (don't want to run two 2.0/2.1...
All I need to drive using my computer is a gaming headset (games), and a set of 2.1 speakers (films). Both run off a 3.5mm connector.
What's the best way of making this work? I've thought of using a splitter, but not sure how this would affect the sound quality. Also thought of using some kind...
Yup tried reseating, different pci-e slot, and reinstalling drivers with a clean sweep.
I may try contacting ASUS in that case if I can't sort it out. Desperate to hold onto this beauty and don't want to return it to seller :).
Used. Advertised as a card 'used only for testing' but probably used in a system from the amount of dust.
Seller is a nice guy, I had problems getting hold of the card from address issues but he was in constant communication throughout so pretty sure he's not a scammer. Want to make sure...
After a bit of an epic struggle (long story) finally got hold of an ASUS ROG Matrix Platinum 5870 that I got off eBay for a good price.
Now I've run straight into a problem - the HDMI port doesn't output an image.
Plugging something into the port, CCC and Windows both detect a second...

Case 2

I decided to fit a set of wheels on the case with the assumption that it was going to be pretty heavy after water-cooling. I had originally planned to fit red led 120mm fans to...
This happens sometimes whilst gaming.
Hawk 5770, stock settings atm, load temps are 60 under stress but 50-55 whilst gaming.
Not sure if it's a monitor problem, gpu failure, or a driver issue.
Well the weirdest thing. There was this black residue stuff in one of the 12V socket holes. I cleared it out with some arctic cleaner and paperclip + kitchen towel and now it works!
I have absolutely no idea what it could have been but I'm just glad it didn't blow something up...
Thanks...
So I just switched in a new PSU. AX 750. Everything's wired up correctly.
Tried to post with just motherboard (P55A-UD3), processor (i5-750) and RAM, the gpu fan (5870) goes to 100% and there's no image.
Does this sound to people like a dead motherboard?
EDIT: (1) the four phase LEDs are lit...

By that definition no thermal paste is 'conductive'. If you smudge arctic silver 5 on your motherboard it will short, guaranteed. I've done it before. If you smother your motherboard in ceramique chances are nothing will happen.
I'm having problems getting Linx stable. It never bsods, but always stops with error after anything from 4-8 passes.
The build is stable with a whole night of prime, and mem test is fine. Load temps are 60 with Linx, and 55-60 with prime.
Currently:
Multiplyer: 19x
BCLK: 200
RAM @ x6...
Thanks for the compliments :).
@gigatexal Yeh I was worried about that but temps weren't a problem so ended up not too worried :).
I'm rebuilding this computer in another Lian Li case which I've been modding for watercooling. Want to push my cpu to 4.5Ghz, I'm running 4Ghz on 1.23V atm so...
Just the pics from the dedicated thread I made. This comp is getting dismantled so I gave it a last photoshoot.

I gave my beloved a last photoshoot. Components are getting moved (with a completely new look) into another Lian Li case that I've modded for watercooling, and this case will be used for my main work computer. I'll be doing worklogs when everything's ready :).
Braiding from MDPC.

Aw maybe this isn't the best place to post that then...I guess [H] is mainly uber hardware :).
@ haadji you're thinking of 'Murderbox' (same company) who do complete builds: http://www.murderbox.com/gallery.html
Murdermod sell amazing modding bits and kits for turning specific cases into...
Firstly my comment was in good humour aimed at someone who'd obviously misunderstood what was being discussed.
And secondly....Bloody hell that's stretching the point a bit far isn't it? Heat from graphics card rising and impacting your cpu heatsink? Blimey...maybe if you work in decimal points...
Known by whom exactly? I was under the impression that multiple companies made ATi cards, and *some* of them, possibly a select few models, were made by SapphireTech in their Guangdong factories. It's a bit of a sweeping statement to say that Sapphire = ATi's OEM.
I get maybe 3-5 degrees on my computer when it's on its side with a Tuniq Tower. 30 degree seems insane though - it sounds very much like your heatsink isn't secured properly and is hanging loose.
No performance depreciation at all after nearly two years in my Intel X-25M 80GBs. TRIM and garbage collection seem to be good enough to sustain consistent performance.
They will and do last as long as you don't repeatedly create and delete 2tb files off an MLC drive every day. Just use them...
Ewww lol. Immediate impression was is that a case from the 90s? You have to wonder if enough monkeys buy this stuff for them to make any money from it...
Blah blah blah enter me into this draw pls blah blah :).
Seriously though those cards look fantastic. I'm about to invest in a pair of MSI 5830s that look like that for a different build, but if I get these for my main build I may just get very excited.
Also lol at all the first time posters...
