Jeeez :rolleyes:, the equipment uses these pins, they were always there in the cable, the first HDMI cable had 19 pins and 19 wires and so does the latest one, the only difference is wire thickness, material and build quality.
Because there's no such thing. There are only four kinds of HDMI cables:
High-speed with Ethernet
High-speed without Ethernet
Standard-speed with Ethernet
Standard-speed without Ethernet
Remember HDMI specs refer to the equipment not to the cable.
