I think the real reason behind this move is so that they can lay people off without actually having to fire them (e.g. do it this way or quit).

They seem to have patches at about the same rate, that is to say "OMG you have to patch this right now!" level patches about once a week. I don't understand how someone can put software out there with so many security holes... for example Java 1.7 was supposed to be this super-security...

Yahoo moved a big datacenter to WNY. It's pretty slick actually - they have these big vents that can open up during winter, and combined with the cheap electricity here even during the summer, I'm sure they have decreased their costs to run the datacenter by quite a bit.
