In the menu of the monitor you can disable auto-detection and force it to stay on HDMI or DP based upon whatever you choose. I'd force it to HDMI then power cycle the monitor and turn the blu-ray player on.

These things mentioned may matter to the end user, or they may not matter at all. From what it looks like, these Samsung line of monitors seem to favor the AMD side of things.

Well I buckled under pressure and have ordered the S27A750D from Newegg. I'll write some feedback here when I receive it on Thursday. The scariest part of buying this monitor was realizing that since only the DisplayPort plug can do 120hz I am basically limiting myself to ATI for a few years...

Yeah I'm going to have to agree and say that 8x MSAA is easily better for top-end systems playing WoW. MLAA made my UI a blurfest and only think it'd be realistic if you were struggling with GPU resources on a low-end system.

I'm happy with my 6870 purchase. Although it looks like the 470 sneaks ahead here, I don't mind since my video card is relatively equalized with my proc temps (34-36c idle, 71-73c max load, benchmarks) and I don't like the GF100 "heat your house" mentality.

I got my XFX 6870 yesterday, it is stable up to around 956MHz on stock voltage. From what I hear, the 6850s can get 900+, so I'd say wait for MSI Afterburner to get an update.

they've really done a smash job making 4.0.1 and on to cata scale much better on the low-end. i've run the game on onboard 128mb video cards and it is still playable. i'd go for the 8800, that will easily run wow on med-high
