No it is correct.

The power brick goes into the receiver. Then there is just speaker wire going from the receiver, to the speakers. If that's considered powered....then I have no idea what an "unpowered" speaker is.

@shineyfalcom I am sure that it is not due to interference or power spikes. I have monitored the voltage going into it, as well as tried at two different homes. And it is constant as well. @snufykat The speakers are not powered. Look up the dtt3500 system and you'll see what I have.

Dang my proc must be bottlenecking me worse than I thought! At that res with no AA and no AF only on High settings on my 470+ I'm getting some lag. Avg around 30 fps with horrible drops in heavy areas. Poor e6550 has served me well....Q6600 on its way to hold me over until Sandy bridge...

How much paste did you use? I had a 930 give me temps similar to that all because I accidentally squirted too much paste and thought it would be fine. Also, have you checked the level of the base of you heatsink?
