Opps, I meant to type 44C
Anyways, it's heavily dependent on ambient temps. When I measured the temp it was 28-29 degrees outside (even hotter at home). Now the temps are starting to drop since summer is ending :(
Today was much cooler and my ambient temps at home is 22C and here's the...
So I thought I would provide a MCW80 adapter plate modding guide for the GTX 470 since Swiftech has yet to release anything for the 400 series that's actually in stock. I know you can buy the G80 kit, but some of us are dirt poor uni students and would rather save on the enormous shipping costs...
I'm patrolling the forums for a Q6600 because my aging E8400@ 4.3GHz is a major bottleneck for my 470.
I just ran the LP2 benchmark and only got 36.7 fps at 1080p, 4x MSAA, max everything else test B.
Others have gotten around 41.9 fps on the same 470 @ 800core.
I did some research...
I think what he meant was the screw nubs rubbing against the MCW80's flat base preventing contact between the block and the GPU.
I'm also curious as to what you did to fix this problem...
Did you grind down the 4 screw nubs on the secondary sink?
I'm looking to get a new GPU soon... so does anyone have any facts on the upcomming 6xxx series?
I don't want to get something that's going to be outdated in a month or two... not to mention price cuts
I ran Linpack in OCCT today along with furmark and temps jumped to 67C! I ran the test with the "CPU:OCCT" load and temps only reached 60C with Furmark.
The pictures are as follows:

I'm using 8800GTX SLI with E8400 @ 4.2GHz and I wanna upgrade my video card.
I'm thinking of something ~250-300 CAD. I don't mind if it's used... I plan to watercool the card anyways.
I see that in the forums, some people are selling 5850 for 230USD? that seems like a great deal... is that the...
