Actually, tracking speed does vary: in most sensors it's dependent on the DPI level that you set it to. At higher DPI settings the maximum tracking speed will decrease... but then of course it doesn't matter because at higher DPI levels you won't be moving the mouse all that fast.
Hi,
I suspect you'll get one of our support guys chiming in here soon but in case they don't, PM me your ticket number and email address and I'll raise it up with the support team.
Avoid black hard plastic if you can. As you saw in my post in this thread the twin eye laser absolutely relies on getting reflected laser light back into the sensor - if the surface is absorbing that light then it can't get the info back that it needs. Now I'm not saying that all black mats...
If you're a creature of habit then you'll be fine - you'll still automatically hit Shift+2 to get your quote marks, even though the 2 key has the @ symbol on it. The only other annoyance would be if you use a US layout with your OS in UK layout then you'll need to get used to the Alt-92 combo...
The Naga achieves that 'profile-less' key binding because by default the buttons on it are assigned to keys on the keyboard, so you are using a profile really.
There's nothing stopping you doing the same thing with the M.M.O.7 though - just configure a profile where all of the buttons are...
Now that's a thoroughly comprehensive review. Just wanted to mention about the tracking issues you're having - have a look at my response in this thread (which might not necessarily look immediately relevant, but the M.M.O.7 uses a twin eye sensor too, albeit the next generation from the one...
It's a common misconception that the colour of your mouse mat is the only thing which affects the performance of your laser. People forget that just because that's what they see, what the laser 'sees' might not necessarily be the same thing - in much the same way that you get those scenes on...
Very odd. Rather than restarting your PC, does the R.A.T. come back if you unplug the dock and then reconnect it? Not saying this is your fix, but just want to know if that gets it working too.
Have you tried changing the USB port that you connect the charging dock into?
Rapid fire just refers to the fact that we've tuned the buttons so you can rapidly click them and get a perfect response every time.
We're just rolling the DPI up through the range - the 5 now has 5600, the 7 and 9 have 6400. Windows drivers are all fine - we're just hammering out a couple of issues with the Mac drivers at the moment and hope to get them up on the site this week.
The Contagion and Albino drivers won't...
Far from it. Support are still backlogged from the usual Christmas support rush though so email support may well be fairly slow right now. You can post it here and I'll see if I can answer it...
Make sure you've got the correct download. I've seen a few people somehow get the wrong driver recently which I'm guessing is because they manually browsed the FTP site rather than using the downloads page on the main site.
32 bit drivers
64 bit drivers
Oh and if you have the Albino or...
Batteries and feet are available from our Gameshark store.
The Albino has been out for a while now and we've just released the Contagion which will go out in Apple's online stores at first - the idea being that it will have a wider distribution than the Gameshark-only Albino.
Usually when this occurs it's due to something getting in the way of the sensor - either a speck of dust or a fine hair/fibre getting stuck to the PTFE foot around the sensor. Give the sensor and the foot a good clean and see if that helps.
Is the fan on the same surface as the R.A.T.? It will pick up vibrations so I'm wondering if that's what's going on here, rather than it being the actual airflow that's causing it.
@burgergetsbored the 5 does use a Twin Eye sensor too - it's the previous version from the one used in the 7...
Our sense of reality is very much in place, however the old adage that you're more likely to tell people if you have a problem with something than if you don't should also be borne in mind when counting the number of complaints on an internet forum.
There have been positive comments in here...
Sounds like you're still basing your opinion on products produced during the N64/Dreamcast era and we've conceded that things could have been better then. However, recent years have seen us concentrate much harder on producing better products - hence the SF Tournament Sticks, the Rock Band...
The hitting the wall problem is due to the laser for that axis not being able to acquire tracking on the surface you're using - this is usually because something is getting in the way and the laser is focusing on that instead of the surface.
What did you use to clean the sensor? We recommend...
Hi,
Taking those surfaces out of the equation for the minute, how does the R9 respond on a simple piece of white paper? Better? Worse? The same?
The fact that it's doing it on a plain wooden desk does suggest it could be a problem with that unit (although it's wood laminate, which can...
Okay, so is this all on the same desk? I'm wondering if your desktop if creating a vibration effect (you have got a lot of powerful kit in there) that is being picked up by the mouse? Where is your desktop case situated? On the desk or under it? Does moving the case so it's not in contact...
:) What I also said to various people who've asked is that when we release the next driver/software update, then we'll add version info to the page. So if you're not seeing any version info on the page then we haven't updated it.
@delushin - blow into the sensor to make sure there is nothing...
Moose517 - PM me the email address you've been using to contact tech support and the country you're in and I'll get this escalated to the correct team.
@Cabbs - I take it you've got pointer precision turned off in your mouse options? Also try running this little tool from our blog to see if it...

Yes, we're looking at adding version numbers to the downloads page and we can take a look at offering acceleration options in the interface.
Still confused as to why the sensitivity setting isn't doing anything for you though - especially as everything else seems to be working fine. Glad...
.Net Framework 3.5 isn't enough - it needs to be .Net 3.5 SP1 and you can tell if it's installed because XP will list SP1 specifically in the list of programs under the Add/Remove Programs icon in Control Panel.
Use Windows Update or the auto update on this page to make sure you're running...
They work fine, but make sure that you have loaded the profile into the mouse. Anything under the settings tab is not profile-related so any changes you make there are live as soon as you do them; anything under the programming tab is profile-related so to enable the changes the profile would...
Just to clarify - the button you're referring to as a profile button is actually a Mode button. This switches the modes within a profile rather than selecting different profiles. You can of course choose to do what you're doing by having different sets of assignments on each mode for different...
