This needs to be shouted from rooftops. Air/water is irrelevant when you have these massive magnetic motors just churning away. I didn't realize this till I built a system that only uses SSDs. Now my loudest component is the damn PSU fan spooling up...
As for water, I've always wanted to do it...
So gents, the first rig I built was a mid tower AMD X4 Phenom 955 BE four years ago. Being a first timer, I used the stock AMD HSF because I didn't know any better. Never overclocked, it's always been at stock voltage and clocks (3.2 ghz, 1.375v).
Recently I built a new i7 rig using an EVO 212...
Hi guys, which PSU did you test this system with? It apparently has problems with the Corsair AX series (digital) according to HWbot and AnandTech . I would like to know if it would have any problem with the Corsair TX750V2, which I've already purchased.
I won't lie, this is somewhat devastating news. I held off on purchasing a 7950 at 170$ in hopes of getting something better this black friday. I am quickly realizing that this was a colossal mistake, and that I'll have to wait months to get that performance at that price point again.
Did you notice a big difference between one vs two fans on the heatsink? Also, do you know where I can find the evo fan? I'd like to match it, but can't seem to find it on newegg. I assume any PWM fan will do though.
Hi guys,
I'm upgrading my rig, here are the current specs:
I'm getting the Coolermaster N520 to OC the 955 to 4.0 Ghz, and am torn between getting an HD7950 that's currently on sale and waiting for an R9 270X. The HD7950 I'm looking at is here:
Please let me know your suggestions.
Thanks
I am looking for the exact same laptop as the parent, and the first place I looked was the t410. Unfortunately, it does not have an HDMI out, and the battery life is bad if you get the nvidia graphics chipset.
Hey guys, a friend and I are looking to build identical systems.
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
HD Video streaming, light gaming (starcraft 2, Diablo 3), light programming/compiling
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included...
