    Why the Physx Hate?

I remember hearing that the CPU code with Physx was locked to x85 instructions and didn't use x86 or SSE instructions or threading. The result is that on CPU, the code runs at less than half the speed that it can run at, and also being proprietary Nvidia would sue anyone that tried to improve...

    4770K 90C with H100i @ stock speeds?

Delid or get a new one, the thermal paste on a 4770k is crap but it sounds like you have a worse one than usual.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I'm dispatch 26 too, it hasn't arrived at my home office. I guess the packages are driving from the west to the east coast. I'm in Pennsylvania.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I'm glad to have found this out now rather than later. I haven't ordered that PSU yet thank goodness. I see a lot of people "planning" to use the ST45SF-G PSU with a 290x and 4770K. Is this SFX power supply sufficient for this much hardware? You definitely don't want to do Prime and Furmark...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Almost ready to order my parts, got another clearance question: This MCR220-DRIVE radiator has a pump included but requires 60mm of clearance from the last screw on the side with the pump. (I know reservoir side fits since that's the same as the 220). Can anyone check whether this would fit...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Thank you! Now I remember why I got this case :) it's perfect. Bad memory is bad. Too bad Swiftech H220 was banned from sale in the USA, the only other choice for an expandable all-in-one loop is Cooler Master's Eisberg 240L Prestige.(correct me if I'm wrong). Trying to decide between this and...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I have the case on order, but something just hit me. I intended to watercool the GPU, will something like this have enough clearance in the case to connect? http://rog.asus.com/276232013/news/koolance-releases-amd-r9-290x-water-block/

    Xeon Phi discussion

Does this mean the end of CPU folding in a year or two? Once it runs Folding one CPU with 4 of these bad boys (off Ebay) would beat any quad-CPU setup right? Price would of course be a factor and Folding needs to support so many threads, but the raw processing power.....

I use the Spyder 3 express for my 27in Samsung, it's no frills and simple to use but the before and after image differences are stunning. I don't know if it is better than other 100$ calibrators though. Here's the $105 Spyder 4 express...

Do you map out a program before writing?

I agree, ask yourself what is needed, design a little, code a little, get others' opinions, refine designs, code more, perform formal demo, get feedback, wrap up coding and switch to polishing.

    240GB Kingston SSD 130$ AMIR($30)

Well, the 120GB version I installed for my parents, with a brand new install of windows 7, it boots so fast the windows 7 logo doesn't have time to form lol. (The animation where 4 pieces come together). Still, it's not an "upgrade" over the agility 3.

    My 3770K is killing me

Your idle temperature is pretty high, I paused my folding@home program and my 3930K at 1.5V idles at 26C. My room temperature is 21C. I really suggest checking your CPU to waterblock contact and thermal paste. Did you take the cover off your CPU and redo the internal paste? Not that I'm...

Cleaning advice - no flux coming out

I didn't clean my parts at all and when draining the water after 1/2 a year the liquid looked completely clean. To sell water cooling parts they have to leak test it with the maximum rated PSI, so that process probably cleans it as well.

    Questions for mini-ITX tower build

Not at all, external dvd drive is ok as long as I can install windows. To be honest, after taking another look at the Antec ISK 310-150, it doesn't look that bad after all. It has both a slim dvd slot plus half-height expansion, there's really nothing else more feature complete.

How good is a 8P Xeon E7-8870 rig compare to 4P Xeon E5-4650?

How much efficiency would be lost in just running 2 BigAdv clients for now (versus 2 4P rigs)? With the 8P even if you can't run one client right now, you're future proofed for when that many threads become supported, and I can see the PPD being epic.

Newegg Warning, learn from my experience

If there was a reversed transaction or chargeback, why do they keep claiming that the transaction was successful? when will Micron's 2133 30nm chips will appear?

Well, 3Ghz ram are actually 1600Mhz native DDR3 chips binned and OCed, and people have gone higher than 3Ghz . I don't think it's unreasonable to ask when the 2133 chips will be available since Micron announced volume production started this Summer.
