Old People Playing The Last Of Us

Dilemma : I haven't played anything before / since it came out that I enjoyed quite as much. It's easily the best game I've ever played and I find the other games I've played since pale in comparison. My previous "favorite games ever" have been pushed down the list and have certainly lost...

    Legendary Celeron 300A overclocked @ +700 MHz

I still remember kyle pushing the Celeron 266 (with no L2 cache iirc) up to 454 or something crazy like that back in the day. It got me into it, I had a P2-300 (SL2W8) @ 465 (103 fsb) for about 5 or 6 years.

SilverStone Olympia 1000W Power Supply 7 Year Redux @ [H]

Based on my hobbies, I'm unsurprised that a power supply containing vented electrolytic capacitors has degraded and presents more ripple. The electrolytic capacitors are essentially perishable products, and seeing more ripple with age is very common in even high quality electrolytics. I'm...

Man Arrested For Refusing To Unlock Phone At Border

Of course we don't have the 4th amendment. We're not America, and that's fine with us. So far I think we're doing fine; but there are always exceptions. We have the charter of rights and freedoms, which for all intents and purposes is similar to your bill of rights.

AMD Takes Aim At Exceptional Content With New LiquidVR Technologies

Everyone seems to want a piece of VR. It's gonna be the next big thing, even though it already feels outdated. Remember how the sales on 3d tv's were mind-blowingly astronomical? Yeah, neither do I. Anyhoo, get your popcorn ready!

    Memorable Overclocking-Friendly CPUs

Oh! You jogged my memory; I think it was called Cryotec? The original system looked ridiculous, it was basically a separate cooling system that was for all intents and purposes bolted on to the bottom of a fairly plain white full-sized ATX tower. I was unaware people still did refrigeration...

    Memorable Overclocking-Friendly CPUs

Ok. I forgot something, maybe someone will remember. Does anyone remember when [H] did a feature on a PC back in the late 90's or early 00's that was essentially a refrigerator cooling system mounted in the bottom of a PC case? It had good results, but the company appears to have...

    Memorable Overclocking-Friendly CPUs

Oh yeah that also reminds me of guys coming up with 'lapping' techniques that would sometimes make the front page of [H]. Guys would strap sandpaper down to a glass table or a really flat piece of metal; and rub their metal CPU heatshield until it became super flat; so they could get better...

    Memorable Overclocking-Friendly CPUs

I still remember overclocking a CPU recommended by Kyle (sold through a link provided by Kyle to "Accubyte" [online retailer] at the time)... Pentium 2 300, SL2W8 (with the off-to-the-side L2 cache chips). Reliable at 465 all day long on my original AOpen AX6BC. I still have it, and it...

    Keyboard Waffle Iron Kickstarter

Ah good, another thing I know is garbage because it requires a kickstarter campaign to produce. So it probably has less features than something I can buy right now, costs more and will likely break prematurely due to shoddy 'upstart company' quality control.

    Mythbusters vs. Gorilla Glass

Well, this video was marginally better than that stupid thing Grant did for McDonalds about their "real" food. They lost me when they changed from a sledge on the first one to ball bearings on the second one. Hit it with the sledge, or GTFO. I'm not worried about a pebble killing me...

Ford and General Motors Sued Over ‘CD Ripping Cars’

Jeez, putting a CD in and having the car stereo rip it would be a lot more legitimate than what I've been doing for over 10 years. I look forward to seeing this suit thrown out swiftly. Reminds me of the movie industry getting all butthurt over VCR's 40 years ago.

isn't the calculation on page 2 of the performance testing (bottom of the page) "20.8 percent" incorrect? 48 is 82.7 percent of 58 so wouldn't the increase be 17.3 percent over the compared previous result?
