Two months in and I'm still liking it. It has excellent uniformity relative to the other IPS displays I tried. The cross-hatching is of course there, but hasn't been an issue for me. I also haven't experienced any image retention. I've got minimal bleed.
The only thing I've noticed really is...
I have the EVGA SC version, but that's it. Are you watching the temps, TDP levels, and clocks on the Titan? I'm sure you've seen that the throttling on these is pretty aggressive. I'm almost positive that's what's happening. Try letting it sit at idle for 5 or 10 and running the bench again.
Min/max/avg with the ultimate preset.
1080p: 70/102/86.
1440p: 46/68/57.
I waited a few minutes between each benchmark to avoid throttling because of GPU Boost 2.0 on the Titan. It was affecting my numbers by about 4 or 5 fps. This bench has me almost immediately hitting the max TDP card. 99%...
This ups my average with the ultimate preset @ 1440 to 55ish. Almost there. I'm still likely to play wiith TressFX off as my minimums are above 60 that way.
I'll put it this way, the stuff I couldn't max on my 680, I still can't max at 1440. I'm talking the Metros and the Crysises of the world. Same goes for Witcher 2. It depends on what you call playable. I need a minimum 60fps to even enjoy something.
Got mine from TD. I'm sure it's super fast but I have no frame of reference. The only games I've played on my 680 since going 1440p are Spec Ops (ran maxed anyway) and NBA2K13 (ran maxed anyway).
TigerDirect appeared to have eVGA SC models this morning. I ordered one and called to get my card verified to expedite the processing of it. They're now showing as out of stock.
Hope I got one.
Got one for $629. For some reason I could only actually get to the PayPal payment page from Dell's site in Firefox. :\
I only paid with PayPal because last time I tried to order one they kept insta-declining all of my cards for no reason. I even called up my credit union and they said they...
Almost ordered one. But all my cards were getting declined by Dell for some reason and the order was auto-cancelled. Everything else I used them for today went through no problem. /shrug
Maybe my bank was blocking them thinking they were fraudulent?
I don't see flickering itself, I just see the side effects of it. I mean, and as for uniformity, I consider web browsing normal usage. So yeah, I do end up 'staring' at a screen that's predominately a light shade for an hour plus at a time.
It really does look like that to my eyes. Though perhaps slightly more reddish on the left than that picture lets on. With a colorimeter like that, is it possible to calibrate part of the panel to compensate or are you still stuck with making adjustments over the whole panel?
I'm liable to take a replacement from Newegg just for the sake of convenience. But I guess I could try an 850.
http://i.imgur.com/1Cl0P.jpg < So do you think that's average, above average, or below average? Part of it is I think I just need to put my expectations in line. I look at that and I...
That 'fixes' it.
I'd be more willing to overlook that if it wasn't for this:

I just want a panel with better uniformity than my trashy $230 TN panel.
What I see with my eyes is the same effect that I'm seeing in the video. I think that's what's happening in-game.
As I watch the ghosting as I move, I see | | | | | rather than |||||||||. If that makes sense.
I thought it was pretty clear.
Anyways, I called Asus and asked them if it uses PWM or if it's something wrong with the one I've got. They said they don't know and suggested I try a different cable. :\
I may just send it back. I set up an RMA with Newegg, but I just don't even know.
I mean...

Watch in HD.
If someone else can check and confirm I'd appreciate it. I don't see how this could be a defect in the one I've got, but still.
I can only see the "flicker" in ghosting trails like this:

^Lower brightness.

^Max brightness.
Past that I don't see it.
I mean, what else would it be?
