OP, I think you need to do some more work on your rig to make sure everything is in order and you have no bottlenecks.
I have been running 3 original titans at 7860x1600 which is almost as many pixels as you are pushing and I get much better performance than you're posting. Unless the 4th...
The equivalent surface has a better processor and comes with a touchscreen pen. It is also WAY more portable with the keyboard. For a mobile device, the construction is actually pretty important. I got my surface 3 on ebay for $800 with the keyboard, same specs as this tablet but better...
Show me the motherboards that let you use an infinite number of GPUs so you can just keep increasing performance by buying more GPUs.
Most motherboards top out at 3 or 4 and any true PC gamer has all their PCIe slots filled so the idea that you can just "buy more GPUs" is a logical fallacy...
Ummm...the Titan was that card. It beat the 680 by 50% and came out less than a year later (which has usually been the time for refreshes rather than massive performance gains).
Let's be clear: the problem isn't that good cards didn't come out, the problem is that you were too poor to buy them.
Interesting...so does anyone know of a 1440x900 monitor that would fit with this in a PLP setup? Going off dimensions, it seems like they're all too big.
Sorry to say bro, but that GTX 570 puts you in the category of "upgrading from a very old machine."
People who got Titans at launch have a legitimate beef that it's been two years without a worthy upgrade, but you aren't in that category. A GTX 980 is well over twice as fast as your...
Would mixing sizes really work with eyefinity? That's interesting to know. The end result of that setup would still be too tall and not wide enough though, with too many pixels to drive effectively.
With my old setup I always just wished I could cut off the outside half of each monitor. A...
It's fair because there isn't really the option to get 3 of the U3415W . . .that would just end up being worse in every way than my old setup. Unfortunately the U3415W has to stand on its own due to Nvidia surround/eyefinity not allowing you to mix different sized monitors. There's just no...
Got mine today with moderate backlight bleed.
So far I'm underwhelmed but that's mainly because I'm coming from a setup of three 30 inch 3007WFP-HC. This just doesn't compete but I had to make the switch because graphics cards have been so stagnant. Three GTX Titans weren't enough to max some...
Sorry that people dropped $1k on a monitor and are excited about getting it and want to share that excitement with others in a similar situation. Sorry that our happiness makes you angry.
Yeah, absolutely nothing added by all the ordering discussion that is helping many people save around $300 off this monitor.
Untwist your panties and go outside.
If you're having trouble getting two coupons to work, you probably added the monitor from the wrong product page. If you added it through the direct link and then go to EPP to check out, it will only let you add one coupon. Here are the correct steps:
-google "dell epp" and go to the first...
You need 3.0 if you're doing tri-sli on a 10+ mp setup. When I tried to run 3 titans at 7860*1600 it was not pretty with pcie 2.0. The experience was like playing on a card that did not have enough vram. Switching to a 3.0 setup made the cards perform as they were supposed to.
A dual gpu card...
. That would further validate my Tri-sli titans if true.
I've already had them almost two years with nothing remotely worth upgrading them to, which is an eternity in graphics cards. GTX 980 is not much faster (10-20% usually) and handicapped on VRAM. To have that as status quo and have my...
I am just not impressed with the performance on the 980s.
I have had three Titans since a bit after launch, purchased for $800-$900 each (coming up on two years now!). From the reviews I have looked at, the 980 is as little as 5% faster in a few games or as much as 20%, with the vast majority...
At high resolutions, adding more cards can cause the stuttering and lead to the need for more VRAM. Don't know if it will happen at OPs resolution/card configuration, but running 7860x1600 with 4GB cards, my system started to choke when I went from two cards to three. I ultimately had to upgrade...
Take a shower and wash the sand out of your panties bro. You knew the specs of the card when you bought it and chose to buy a card with only 4GB even though 6GB cards have been out for years. Stop blaming the reviewers and start blaming yourself. You had all specs right in front of you. The...
Oh noes, I could have had something faster and cheaper if I had waited 6+ months!
This has never not been true with video cards unless there are supply problems. Prices are in a constant state of going down from the launch price, either officially, or unofficially in the used market and...
I'd consider the 290x a downgrade from a Titan. At my rez a decent number of games are very close to the 4GB vram mark and some even go over a bit so why get a card that's already tapped out and going to choke.
Plus, three titans overclocked and with the voltage bumped up are usually running...
A used 3930k is $400...a 4770k is $350, not that much different. And you can get a deal on a top 2011 motherboard like a RIVE now whereas the best haswell motherboards are $400+.
A 3930k should clock 300-500mhz higher than a 4770k and without the ridiculous 90c+ temps.
I remember back in undergrad when "The Docs", who had them, and where they were going with them was the most important thing in the world. Bring back RTCW.
Vega told me the latency from PLX would only hurt performance by 1-3%, although it probably needs tests since this resolution is uniquely stressful (ie just from reading Titan single card reviews you'd expect them to be 40% stronger than 680/7970 at this rez and yet somehow they can go over...
I play at 7860x1600 and used 3x 4GB GTX 670. Some games they gave a decent experience in, but there were far too many where they choked and just didn't play well at all unless settings were lowered too much for my liking (ie in a lot of games going from ultra to very high doesn't hurt much, but...
No you're just deluding yourself. Battlefield 3 might not be testing your OC properly because it can get limited by CPU/RAM/etc and often doesn't run at 100% GPU utilization. Crysis 2 with vsynch off typically has a very high utilization so would be the better indicator of stability. Sorry brah...
For three monitors and 2 gpus, don't worry about it...you'll be fine at 2.0 16x16x (although I speculate that something like quad sli with GTX 690s should probably be at 3.0 16x16x). Similarly, at resolutions up to 2560x1600, pcie 2.0 doesn't seem to be a huge bottleneck.
However, ff you're...
Looks like I won by going with a 3930k instead.
$400 chip + $300 rampage IV extreme
vs
$780 or so shipped from newegg for a 4770k+OC Force motherboard
Just put it together today and hit 4.8 without any real effort, could hit 5 if I wanted.
I have two Samsung 830 SSDs, 256GB.
One of them is brand new and sealed, the other has never been used but was opened.
I want to sell the sealed one for $160 shipped or trade them both for a 512GB possibly with money added on either side just depending on the actual deal.
This is really just a trend of guys dropping out of the marriage race because women are no longer worth it, so men make the rational decision.
-American women, on average, are getting fatter and fatter
-American women, on average, are getting sluttier and sluttier. They somehow feel entitled...
No way consoles are twice as efficient as PCs anymore.
Most of the old "efficiency" that was seen is due to the resolution gap...lots of Xbox 360 games run at 540p max and then upscale to HD resolutions.
With the new consoles hopefully offering true HD all the time or at least hopefully...
I game at 7680x1600. I've used 3x 4GB gtx 670 and now have three Titans.
DO NOT BUY CARDS WITH 3GB FOR THIS RESOLUTION. Literally the dumbest thing you could possibly do, nothing is worse than dropping a lot of cash on GPUs and getting poor performance from maxing your vram.
If AMD gives a 20-30% boost in performance over the 7970, whatever they release 6 months from now will be weaker than a Titan so not sure how that's going to drive it down to sub 500 prices, especially when people tend to pay a premium to have an Nvidia card over an AMD card.
Cheap Maxwells...
That's what a GTX 680 4GB is selling for right now...a 780 6GB is going to be $200 more expensive than a GTX 680 4GB was at launch and some of that extra value will probably hold, so a 780 6GB will probably be $450-$550 in a year with the Titan being a bit more than that.
I would expect the 780 to hit the higher end of that range a bit more often since it is clocked higher to begin with. It appears both overclock by roughly the same percentage over the standard clocks though, so they would get the same percentage gain.
Not seeing how overclocking changes...
Not so sure about that. I bought three at 800-900.
A GTX 780 with equivalent memory will be 750. Performance and price is never linear...it's definitely worth an extra $50-$150 per card to get an extra 5-20% performance at the very top end(depending on game and resolution). I don't really see...
