The chipset fan on my B-Stock EVGA 750i SLI is so loud that I unplugged it. Do you think it is necessary to have a fan on the heatsink? The heatsink is near the x16 slots, so the video card covers about half of it.

So, I call evga about how my motherboard would hang when I increase the FSB (even by one mHz) and they tell me to go find a solution on an online forum. So what would be causing this, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!
