Hi all. I'm currently running a EVGA GTX 460 FTW. It's served me well, but with Fallout 4 coming it just won't cut it anymore. I've pretty much settled on a 970 as an upgrade. I'm looking for some guidance on which one to get. With so many different manufacturers and so many different options...
Thanks for the suggestions. I found a solution. Go to the Windows disk manager and delete the drive. That wipes it and removes whatever partition, bootloader file, etc... was causing Windows to choke.
Hello all,
So I have a 250GB system drive, and two storage drives. One is 500GB and one is 2TB. The 500GB is failing. So I replaced it. When the new drive is connected, the computer won't boot (gives a boot failure error and asks for the disc). When I reconnected the bad drive it booted...
Thanks for the input guys. I'm really not that concerned with getting cutting edge stuff when I make these purchases. I'm not a serious bleeding-edge gamer or anything. I only make major upgrades every 4-5 years or when failures occur.
If the PSU ends up being an issue, I'll replace it...
Fair enough.
The case is the Rosewill Challenger U3 (http://rosewill.com/products/1807/ProductDetail_Overview.htm)
If I have to upgrade PSU, I will. I'll have to eventually anyway.
Generally I play things like CS:GO, Lord of the Rings Online, Skyrim, definitely Fallout 4 when it comes out. I'd like to be able to run this all on max settings.
I have a Rosewell ATX mid tower case. The PSU is actually 850W. It's the CS850.
Hello all,
My rig is getting a little long in the tooth. I'm looking for the best bang-for-the-buck upgrade I can get utilizing exiting components.
Here is what I have currently:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 (AMD3+ socket, supports up to FX-8370 CPU)
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 630
RAM...
Necroing this for an update (hopefully)...
How is it so far collegeboy69us? I'm still on the GNex with VZ and seriously considering getting a Nexus 5 and going to straight talk. Have you had any issues with ST? Are you using an ATT or Tmo SIM?
No overclocking. Everything is running at stock speed. I'd read that it could be related to the AHCI driver, to which I cannot find an update for Windows 8.1. However, this computer has been running 8.1 since it came out with no issues until the other day. I'll keep digging. Any other ideas...
Hey all,
My desktop started going BSOD on me two days ago. It did it randomly. After it restarted, its been running for about 10 minutes, then blue screen and has been consistent ever since. I tried a system restore, Malwarebytes scan, avast scan, updated nvidia drivers... It will run...
dave99 - the went into outbound NAT, selected automatic and saved, then manual and saved.
jadams - Yes. They are running on different ports. The server is running on 11194 and client is running on default 1194.
That's true. I went with one that doesn't keep logs, but it's always possible. It's just another layer, not the end-all-be-all.
Anyway, back on track...
Hello all,
A few months back I configured a pfSense firewall to replace my FiOS router as my network edge device. I set it up with as an OpenVPN server so that I could VPN into my home network. I did this primarily for use on my phone when on public networks.
With the recent news about all...
Good call on the client logs. I found the issue. I forgot to disable dynamic DNS on my FiOS router when I turned up pfSense. Sooo... the last update dyndns got was from the fios router and it's WAN address which is now private. Fixed that and all is good. Thanks!
Hey, thanks for the guide. I'm running pfSense 2.0.3. It seems a few things have changed since 2.0.1. Anyway, I'm trying to connect to the VPN from my Android phone using OpenVPN Connect. I imported the profile and all, but the VPN times out when I try to connect. Here are the OpenVPN logs...
I hope you all are having a better day than I...
So, my desktop isn't really anything too fancy. Quad-core AMD Athlon II, Asus motherboard, Nvidia GTX460, onboard audio, 4GB Corsair XMS RAM, Corsair GS800 PSU and three hard drives. A 2TB WD Black (backups and multimedia), a 640GB WD Blue...
I've had a Droid for a few months now and would recommend it. There are only a few things about it that bother me. The first is the keyboard. I like having the physical keyboard, but the top row of keys is a little cumbersome, particularly if you have larger hands. It is nice to have though...
