Any issues known running (2) GTX590's on a EVGA X58 Classified3 mobo? Says it can run dual or tri sli, but would 2 590 card technically be quad sli?
My first thought is that it will see the 590's as just 2 single cards and not be an issue, but I am not sure if there is more to it that I am...
I am looking to swap out my current video cards with two water cooled GTX 590's but I on'y want to use a temporary setup for the time being.
I have a Raven II case and prefer to build a complete new PC in the near future so I don't want to invest in making a complete system using the Raven...
Can't tell you without looking, but it's all set to the highest settings. I just made the assumption the 3 cards would run it at that. Haven't had the time to lower the settings yet although I understand thats something I should have tried to do first. Hope to give it a try this evening.
Anyone running, or can point me to benchmarks of BC2 running at 2560x1440 with tri-sli GTX285's and an i7 overclocked to 3.6?
I'm getting a lot of jumping in a busy game and I haven't done any changes yet to see if it's the cards lagging behind or the monitor. Monitor is a u2711 and I already...
I don't have time to read 44 pages about the U2711, so here's a new thread that can be answered and closed in a few posts I hope.
Picked up a U2711 and when playing BC2 I get a lot of jumping, but my ping rates are around 80-100 and normally wouldn't jump with my old monitor a 2005WFP.
I...
Should be possible. I'm at 3.6 with a 920 and full load after 15 min. has my hottest core right at 69-70C with HT turned on and speed step on and turbo off. Don't remember my vcore at the moment though.
Running push/pull with two gentle typhoon fans at 50cfm each (1450 rpm fans approx.)...
Following up with the contents of this thread. A 9°-10°C difference between cores on my i7-920 would be borderline?
I'm running at 4mhz with a vcore of 1.24.
High temps are:

While doing the torture test in prime95. About to run 3D mark vantage and see how it does.
Yes, I feel I could live without being able to boot. As long as the following applies. That I replace the failed drive and reinstall windows and the backup HDD would be able to restore the lost data in a usable format. This will be my home use/play computer so down time with it can be dealt with...
I'm stepping away from running RAID 5 to save the $400 on a card but still considering RAID 0, but I'm unsure of my backup options.
I'm running win 7, asus RIIE, and 3 samsung F3 HDDs at 1TB each.
Can I run the RAID 0 on two drives (boot, etc.) and then just use the third HDD to backup...
I'm going to leave out the RAID for the time being and should start assembly this evening once the mobo arrives in the mail.
I'm going to use the arctic silver 5 thermal compound on the i7. Can anyone direct me to a link if there are suggestions for application? I read the instructions online...
This is a not the best question for those who have been around this for a while, but will I need anything else to run in RAID? Controller, etc. or is that all self contained in the mobo?
In terms of bang for the buck, or my end use? They are already sitting here waiting on the mobo, so it's likely I'll stick with them and exercise the phrase "live and learn" but I'll see what my return options are and if it's worth it to me.
I was considering a single crucial SSD as a boot...
I read a few of the stickies and will continue to read more, but as I've already begun the purchasing of most items it's somewhat, what you see is what I get at this point. Main reason to post up is, while I enjoy using computers my hobbies have normally been outside of building up my own. I did...
