This fix worked for this guy. Other people are saying it's a CPU problem, low CPU utilization causing the CPU to go into idle states, maybe disabling power states in the BIOS would fix it.

That's the 5800k, not the 6800k. So the older fastest. Considering any Iris pro model costs $400+, I'm not sure why AMD should be concerned. For that price, you can have an i3/FX6300 and a 7950 and go around taking dumps on any iGP/APU.

TBH though, any game like Skyrim should be playing at extremely high FPS on any decent crossfire setup, and at 120+FPS even with runt frames it's still quite smooth... XDMA will use PCI-E, no more need for crossfire straps.

Guru3d is full of visual issues at the top of the frame being interpreted as drops (those dropped frame spikes). They aren't actual dropped frames, just two-pixel long anomalies.

This fix is based around standard CDMA crossfire which involves the crossfire band, once you hit a high enough resolution the bandwidth of the crossfire strap is exceeded, forcing the cards to use software compositing, which is glitchy and causes visual errors (but not necessarily microstutter).

Eyefinity at large resolutions (above 1080p) will still have issues due to software compositing instead of CDMA, this driver can't fix that as it is more or less a hardware issue. Only XDMA support will help that. (what I'm referring to isn't microstutter, but rather odd frame-order patterns...

How much lower? Frame pacing will decrease FPS in order to smooth the frametimes, but only if your FPS is very high from what I know... aka >150.

To be fair, in some reviews I saw Nvidia having the same issue... It appears like it may be something no amount of drivers can fix.

FC3 may still have the same issues as single cards, with "spikes" in frametimes (from normal frametimes to ~100ms for example)... That's what I was noticing when testing the driver.

I don't sell my used games because I only buy games I'm going to keep for a long time - I still go back and play COD4 or Halo 3, even though they are outdated. So selling games back just isn't for me. Exclusive games are crap??? There's a lot of Gears of War, Halo, God of War, Last of Us...

Well, it's what it's designed to do, but it's possible your cooler isn't up to snuff or something. All I can say is it is supposed to be running at 80C under load.

This is GPU Boost 2.0 working as expected. High boost until 80C (60FPS), hits 80C and drops clocks (but not fan speed, because Nvidia has quiet fan profiles) and then you lose the FPS. Change the fan speed curve with Afterburner if you want more performance.

My 3dmark FireStrike results put a 7950 at 1200e/1600m at 8288 graphics score, compared to 6967 for a GTX680 (and 10,234 for a Titan). Stock score is 6477 for me.

Leaky transistors and long instruction pipelines. Although I don't think Haswell got any shorter than IB really, but longer pipeline chips like Bulldozer/Piledriver and Netburst-kind of stuff do much better under LN2.
