My parents have been experiencing a similar issue with their ERL. After a week or so I'll need to power cycle the router, and then it won't automatically reconnect. I originally bought an ERL since it was low powered, had a featureset and CLI I could work with, and was around the price of a...
Hello all,
I'm hoping a fellow [H] member can help me out. I had a friend pick me up some prepaid airtime but they purchased cards for Virgin Mobile and I'm after T-Mobile airtime. If anyone here has a Virgin Prepaid account and would be willing to trade airtime codes please let me know...
you might be able to source a Norco 230 2U (supports ATX PSU), has basic front USB for $65 from the egg (given that trying to ship a large case like that will be expensive on shipping). If you're in Ottawa though I've got one that I'm not using :)
Using some type of VPN service just means your traffic encrypted from your notebook to the VPN server. What happens after that is still open. If you're ok with that, then one of the options above would work. I've got a few VPS's through buyvm.net a $15/year option canna mentioned. Spin up an...
We use FreeNAS here at our office as a company file server as we quickly outgrew our Windows solution not long after I started a year ago. We also use NAS4Free as an iSCSI target for our Unitrends backup storage we are currently testing (as FreeNAS currently does not work with UEFI based...
I've been investigating alternatives to having multiple boxes to run test automation for development (I've been running VM's to consolidate physical box use), and it's been pretty good except for the hosts CPU being pegged almost all of the time.
From what I can gather the VM's are testing...
Just doing some spring cleaning and came across these iTunes US cards I had from a trip last year. I've got 2 x $10 cards and I'll let them go for $16 for both if anyone needs to top off their account. Non-CC PP preferred (so I can continue to buy items off US Ebay lol).
The price shows up as $135 for me without having to enter in a code? I tried the code and checkout and it was rejected. Perhaps a code isn't needed now?
It all boils down to how sensitive your information is and how paranoid you are. Worst case scenario is that someone decides to intercept your wifi connection and decrypt your SSL secured connections to see what you're doing...
Looking for one or two low profile quad port Intel NIC brackets to fit a Dell quad port Intel NIC.
The NIC's look like this, hoping someone may have some lying around. I did see some on ebay but charging $20+ in shipping on top of the $20 for a piece of pressed metal is a bit much...
I'll chime in with my own experience doing this. Had an Asus 1201N I couldn't get to restore and Asus said we'll supply you with recovery discs for $50, I scoffed and told them they were out to lunch on this. Also there was never an option for me to create recovery discs even though they said...
What I've done at home is set up an OpenVPN connection I can use from work or elsewhere and drop onto my network. From there I can either log onto a Windows VM I set up to manage vSphere or if I'm on my Windows notebook I just launch the vSphere client and go from there.
We use March Networks for our security camera solution. They have quite a number of large scale enterprise clients (I believe one of them has a network of several thousand cameras). Their solution is completely scalable. If you want to know more let me know I've got a few contacts over there...
So here are the pics of it powered on
The LED's that are on are for ETH5, Power, and Status
Also two of the ports (4 and 3) do light up when I plug an ethernet cable in. Just no response from the console using putty.
I got quoted $150 to repair it from one shop so far
So I've got a lab server I've been slowly rebuilding from what I bought it for to get a fully working dual quad xeon x5500 series server with tons of RAM and NICs.
I was running into some serious heating issues using only the passive heatsinks and no shroud so I got one off ebay. It helped...
I'll have to borrow one of the spare power bricks from work to test that out tomorrow, I left the device at work. I'm wondering if I'm just as well to put it up on ebay as is and recoup my losses and put this to bed. What a headache I've brought upon myself. I appreciate all the ]H[elp from...
if the part could be sourced I could have a friend who lives close by and works with this stuff quite often to help too (given that I'm in canada and shipping it back and forth could become a bit hefty). But you're right trying to find the correct module will be the challenge. Hence why I was...
Here's a photo of the board and a close up of the one chip I've identified visually that's cooked
What do you think dash? Revivable? I can take better pictures when I get home later those were taken my phone
Can you buy it for an out of warranty device? The part number on the bottom indicates its a refurbished ASA.
Yeah generally my dealings with some people locally have been great (got a 24 port Procurve gigabit switch for $120 last year). But something like this leaves me bitter (moreso at...
So long story short I thought I was hopefully getting a base 10 user 5505 yesterday only to find out it was dead. Bought locally for $40 without a power supply, luckily I work for an IT company where we have equipment lying around where it could be plugged in. Examined the board and it looks...
What kind of temperatures do you see on your Supermicro X8DTN system and are you using active of passive cooling? Reason why I ask is I have a similar setup but during burn-in periods my X8DTN would shut down due to overheating. I'm trying to decide if I should get the air shroud for the...
Count me in for this, I've been putting off my CCNA study for a while now (just completed my MCTIP upgrade exams) but need to expand my knowledge from the networking side. Sadly I don't own a lot of Cisco equipment (just a pair of PIX515E's and a 2924XL switch atm) but I do have enough quad NIC...
