Okay guys, I have managed to get my hands on a Compaq Evo N610c to play around with and I'm looking at Hackintoshing it to run OSX. I have no past experience with Hackintoshing or dual-booting and I would like some help. How would I go about partitioning the hard drive to work like this? Has...

BigPond Elite Liberty 100GB w/ ADSL2+ in Australia. I live in a rural area so this connection is more than excellent.
But without any thermal paste I get temps of around 45C idle and 80-90 on load.
Okay, I think I'll go and get some before I try anything else, thanks!
But wait, can the CPU really overheat within a few seconds?
Okay, I may have to do that whenever I get money.
Ummm, about thermal paste. I have never used it because I get decent temps without it. Though I am aware it is highly recommended.
Okay guys,
Having a bit of trouble with my rig. A couple of weeks ago I was just playing some games and then shut down my computer. In the morning I went to boot it and all I got was the CPU fan running and then turning off again. After a bit of fiddling I went online and ordered a new case...

Mine.
Bigpond ADSL2+ Liberty Extreme 25GB
AU$49.95 p/month
I'm very happy with this connection. Shitty ping on my line, useless for gaming.
Anyone got a compatible cooler or knowws where to buy one for a GeForce4 Ti 4200? I have this card laying around and it needs a new cooler to whack in a clunker so my firends can play Halo against me when they come over. Any help? Do you know how to make a cooler for it? Anything, please.
I am looking for something cheap in the Graphics cards - Is a GT220 worth the price over the integrated graphics?
Or a 4350?
I'm on XP - How would 7HP go on this system? (Current and after recommended upgrades)
Alright, Halo runs at full settings @ 1024x768 with little noticeable lag unless I run into a group of 5-10 enemies, where I estimate it drops to 10-12FPS until I defeat the enemies. TM Forever, at Medium settings, scores 23.4FPS and is OK, but the much prettier 'High' settings score only 13FPS...
This is my system - built from new, used and OLD parts.
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0GHz (Second hand - $90 AUDollars)
Intel Stock cooler (I don't need to overclock)

Integrated Intel X4500 Graphics
Seagate U6 60GB IDE HDD (OLD)...
How good would this system be for light gaming, my favourite games are Quake 3 Arena, Halo 1 and TmNations Forever. Its just something I can get my hands on. It consists of...

I can't say I do LAN parties much. I've always played TM Nation, Quake 3 Arena and Halo over the school LANs, but never actually met with people specifically to play on a LAN. Some friends want me to buy a real cheapo old lappy and put Quake 3 Arena on it, with an old PCMCIA Ethernet card, so...
Ok, just a little set of q's here. I was on eBay just browsing through components, when I decided to search up Server MoBo's. I came across this, an Intel SE7501WV2 with 2x Intel Xeon 2.8Ghz processors attached. I was just thinking, if I wanted to use something like this as an everyday PC, would...
Yeah, OK. The 4200 has an S3 Savage 3D GPU, and I have played some other games on it before (Old ones, like VRally 2). I'm going to borrow the PC and play the demo on it before I buy. I don't have a lot of money, and the ONLY thing that the 4200 would be used for would be Q3A. So, I don't want a...
Hi, just thought that I would pick your brains at something. I recently got into one of the real classics of gaming, Quake III Arena. I have the demo and will soon buy the full game online, or locally. Whatever's cheaper. So far, I have this running on my P4 desktop beautifully, at 1024x768 with...
A while ago, I needed very cheap RAM and bought some 'DDR RAM' off of eBay really cheap.
Anyway, I put 2 sticks of this IBM branded 256mb in my P4 1.8Ghz and it worked fine.
It wasn't until I pulled up CPU-Z and saw that my RAM was ECC registered. This reminded me that I had earlier heard...
Yes. I'm much the same with my builds. Plus, in SFF builds, you need more space for better airflow.
It's also cheaper. When building to a budget, it's sometimes unneccessary and expensive to get more than 4GB for light gaming and web browsing (which is mostly what I do).
