Upgraded - got this puppy chillin now. Simple enough, P67 mobo, revision 3 for 1155 socket chips. Ran my 2600k like a champ for a long time.
Asking $100 > $90 shipped to lower 48, as is.
Comes with the box, manual, driver disc, backplate, and I'll toss in some spare SATA cables I have...
I purchased a Corsair GS600w about 2-3 months ago.
Link for reference
Over the last few months I've been getting random drop outs. The power of the PC will just shut off immediately with zero indication that it was failing. As I'm sure you all could imagine, this is very very inconvenient...
Picture Reference:
I've read somewhere that there is a certain chip that needs a heatsink when installing an aftermarket cooler (that isn't listed in the included instructions). And I believe it was in the upper left corner (I've circled it in my picture) Is this the chip I need to add a...
How well does the 3000 Series do for 1080p playback? I'm considering this ASUS board for my HTPC build. It'll be displaying on a 52", and need to know if I should possibly consider buying a video card to offload the video/audio to that.
I understand this may be a tad too much for just an HTPC...
Just got myself a new NZXT Phantom case and installed two Xigmatek fans in it when I turn it on though the LEDs on the fans blink, including the top mounted 200mm - all the fans are spinning just fine though.
Not sure what's going on but I'm getting really annoyed watching these things blink...
Ok so like a few others - I'm new to the Intel scene, brought in with promises of fancy parties and confetti with the new Sandy Bridges.
I do a lot of video rendering, and a good amount of in-game recording usually at 1920x1080, so figuring that getting a 2600k and OC'ing it would be a great...
Edit: Found a 6950! Thanks for all the info fellas.
Just upgraded my system to a 2600k @ 4.6Ghz (shooting for 5ghz soon, woo!), and well now my little ol' HD5770 1GB is slacking. Looking into grabbing a new card.
I'd like to jump into the 6900 series as I've been very very happy with ATI the...
Edit: Pull the Trigger makes.. much more sense... My bad. Title fail.
My only concern is my Corsair 400w PSU
Current Setup involves
HD5770, 300gb Velociraptor, & 2x1TB Drives.
About to grab these off Amazon, I'm fairly confident it can power it all, but will there be room to overclock? Or...
So I've noticed there is another thread up talking about Video Editing, but it was more of a ground up, when I'm looking to just upgrade what I currently have. This is a system I've put together over the last year or so and I feel I need to upgrade.
Main reason is to lower Render times for 720p...

PSU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139018
Motherboard has a 4pin instead of the 6pin I assumed it had. (rushed on an open box deal)
Could I just use an adapter to provide enough...
Current system:
AMD 635 X4 2.9Ghz
Corsair H50 coolin the quad
8GB Corsair 800mhz Ram (two sets of the url posted)
ATI 1GB HD5770
2 WD 1TB Green Drives 7200rpm (So it says on the sticker, but I always thought Green = 5400rpm)
Gigabyte GA-MA785GM Mobo
All powered by Corsair's 400w PSU...
My biggest weak point is my knowledge on PSUs, Friend wants to upgrade to a quad, his current system is:
Asus M3A78-CM
2.6GHz AMD Dual Core
512mb 9800GT
4gb 800mhz Ram
Anyways, not like a lot of that matters, going to upgrade to a quad soon, and honestly I think that his shitty Rosewill...
Customizing a switch in one of the dummy panels, and want to ask you guys for your opinions, since I know I need a resistor on this LED I have.
Simple breakdown: When switch is on, LED comes on as well.
Just need a suggestion on how big of a resistor I need.
My epic paint skills to show...
-Updated PSU-
Want to expand on my current system to be a better and more efficient video editing machine.
Been working a LOT with Adobe After Effects and Sony Vegas, but my current setup is really slow and is starting to annoy me.

Seemed like a capacitor issue, since when I took it apart I found 4 blown caps. After replacing them with new ones, I still get this issue.
Lines appear as soon as I turn the monitor on, checked the cables, and video card. It's definitely the Monitor itself because my other 22's work just...
Radioshack has failed me for the last time, and frankly I don't want to drive 2 hours to the nearest Frys to get some.
Any of you people know a good/reliable place to buy capacitors online?
Thanks!
I understand these are 21.6" monitors, but it's the same damn thing.
My place of work went out of business, and I was able to get these two monitors which I do not need, since I already have a 22" ASUS and 32" Toshiba.
These two are fantastic monitors, colors look great, no dead pixels, all...
Found a HD PVR.

Buddy of mine has a lower-end PC laying around and wants to get rid of it, it caught my eye when I saw it had HDMI onboard.
Looking further into it, turns out it's a Intel MSI Board, 2.5GHz dual core, 500w PSU (Overkill in my opinion) with 2GB of Ramrods. Now I'm aware the processor and ram are...
I'm tired of downloading them over and over on our crappy Internet here at work. I found a hidden folder in Program Files called "WindowsUpdate" but nothing is inside there.
Anyone have any idea where Automatic Download stores them? Or if it's even possible to copy them over to an external or...
Edit: Stupid laptop keyboard didn't put a "T" in my title. Supposed to say "WD My Book Raid not working?" Sorry!
I recently came into the possession of a My Book Premium Edition II (SN: WD10000C033)

We recently just restarted our server at work, as it was shutting down it was doing updates. During one of the updates (I don't know which one) It took hours to finish, I don't know how long since we all where sent home because we can't do anything without this up.
I came in today and one of...
I have a video capturing device from Pinnacle and would like to start putting it to use.
I still have my Antec NSK2480 case laying around so I would like to put it to use if no one ends up buying it. So this will be the case of my build.
I don't have a set budget for this just yet, but I do...
I've fixed a few monitors in my lifetime, most problems being just that a capacitor is blown. Easy fix. But this one is stumping me, so I've come to the experts.
What it is:
It's a Samsung 920NW.
What it's doing:
After pressing the power button, it will stay on for about 3-5 seconds...

Well, I just got into work and everyone is freaking out, apparently the power went out real quick about 2-3 times and now our server won't go past the 'windows loading screen'.
I don't know much about servers, but I'm pretty computer savvy, it's connected through a UPS so I don't think the...
Well, credit card is getting the best of me at the moment, so I have to sell the HTPC even though I love it dearly. It works wonderfully, and I had the forums check my build multiple times before picking this up, it's a great machine. It plays blurays at 1080p flawlessly, full 7.1 sound...
I have a small external drive on my PC, labeled L:. Up until last Friday, everyone on my network could access the files on it just fine, then when I come back on Monday, I keep getting complaints that they can't access my PC at all anymore.
I'm running Win7 RC, while the rest are running XP...
I have had this external TB connected to my work computer for months, and just now am realizing I'm only using 70-90gb on it and it's not being filled up. Right now it's mapped on numerous computers across the office and people access the data on it, but are not storing stuff on it.
It's...
It's been lightly discussed before, sorry beating a dead horse.
I have an old EVGA 8600GT 512mb video card that's just layin around and would like to put some use to it. I know someone in an earlier thread was talking about using a 8800GTX or something like that but it doesn't transfer sound...
Got my HTPC stuff this Friday, it was a lot of fun putting it together.
Few pictures just to show it off a bit.
I wasn't happy with the noise the stock fans put out, even on low. They move a lot of air but I wanted something I could control. So I switched the Stock fans:

Buddy of mine is doing a small upgrade and is going to get a 2.8GHz dual core, 2GB Ram (800mhz), and power a meager 8600GT 256mb video card. He has a tiny 17" LCD monitor too, and likes to keep it at 1280x1024 from what I remember.
He wants cheap, and I don't think he needs to go above 500w for...
