    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

I did a rough 3D model based on the dimensions and product images Samsung has put out. This sucker is so much larger than I expected. Desk shown is 30" deep and 6' wide. I'm no longer sure this is the right monitor for me. The amount of space behind the monitor is insane.

How do you guys organize all the cables that plug into the back panel on your motherboard?

My case gives cables a single point out at the top (SV590), so that helps, but I'm a big fan of split cable sleeving as a way to bundle things. I sometimes use multiple smaller sections that then combine into a larger one, branching as needed.

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

Unfortunately looks like this monitor falls to the same thing that bothers me about most curved displays - the curvature isn't uniform. Looks like about 1/6th of the display is flat on either side.

    TRADE: I have 5600x, want 5900x

That's about what I expected, but it was worth a shot. I actually had a 5800x but returned it for this 5600x because I figured it'll have a little better resale when I finally find a 5900x. This whole mess is a shame, but I gotta get things rolling so I can finish my thesis.

    TRADE: I have 5600x, want 5900x

I figure this is a longshot, but apparently the MicroCenter near me hasn't been getting 5900x chips so maybe somewhere the inverse is true. I'll trade a 5600x + paypal for a 5900x. Alternatively if you have a 5900x for somewhere around MSRP + Tax + Shipping, I'll buy that. I've got about a week...

FS: Corsair RM1000i with Alchemy Cables - $180 Shipped

Hey guys I'm selling a Corsair RM1000i with the appropriate Alchemy Cable Kit. I no longer have the stock cables so I'm selling them together. I'm looking for $180 shipped within the continental US. I can include the original boxes if you really want them, but that would incur extra shipping...

Well I designed and built the desk myself, so I'm afraid I can't point you to much information on that (unless you want me to get into actual detail, which I can do). The chair is a Nefil 3D Mesh Executive Chair... but I'm pretty sure you were asking about the desk.

GameStop and Target are Cancelling Nintendo Switch Preorders Due to Shortage

A lot of people are very excited about this list of 3rd party support - but the only one that stands out to me that wasn't on the Wii U roster is Unity (because it wasn't big yet). Something like 6 months after the Wii U launch, EA, Ubisoft, Bethesda, and the tremendous number of developers...

HDMI CEC to turn TV on with system boot

Scheduled task works wonderfully! Thanks to everyone for helping me set things up (and once again proving that I know nothing).

HDMI CEC to turn TV on with system boot

I didn't know that option for locking the computer, so thanks for the info as I'll probably try it. I had briefly considered just going password free, but I'd much rather keep things locked. My other idea was picking up a Windows Hello camera so that logging in blind wouldn't be as big of an issue.

    Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

It's two 24" Dell P2411Hs flanking a 43" Sony x800D. First time I've ever wished for larger bezels - while the screen sizes match exactly, the thin bezels of the Sony don't match up with the Dells. Interestingly enough, I feel like I've actually lost a lot of multi-monitor productivity since...

HDMI CEC to turn TV on with system boot

That's what I did prior to the adapter, but I would prefer to automate that process. I hate having extra 'stuff' on my desk, and due to the layout of things I have to aim the remote in a fairly specific way to get the TV to pick up the signal.

HDMI CEC to turn TV on with system boot

So I recently bought one of these, in order to get my TV to turn on with my PC. The problem is since it uses a Windows app it won't kick the TV on until about 30 seconds after I log-in, and since the TV is my primary monitor that means I have to log-in blind. Is there an option I can use to...

The Slow Death Of The Manual Transmission

IMO DCTs with paddles are the best of both worlds. You get an incredibly capable auto for performance, for traffic, and for commuting - but then you have the option of choosing gears when you want to. I drove an 18-speed for years. I understand the occasional want for control over shifts...

Man Streams 115 MPH Ride On Facebook, Crashes Into Garbage Truck

I don't think he meant it in that sense. The post he quoted said "HAS 217k", he was modifying that to "HAD 217k" because the car is now a trash heap. Because high speed collision.

Help choose between Xperia Z5 compact vs Xperia X compact

IIRC the catch with disabling what's new notifications is you also won't receive notifications for updates (which are delivered via What's New). This is less of a problem as updates will likely become scarce soon. I also remember one pop-up notification being impossible to disable, but I'm...

Help choose between Xperia Z5 compact vs Xperia X compact

I have a Z5 Compact. Don't buy it. Over the past year the phone has gotten consistently worse with every update. At this point Sony is shoving ads into the notification shade every day using their "what's new" app. Other minor niggles are the abysmal performance, questionable-at-best...

NVIDIA Announces The New Titan X

So I ordered the wrong block (Copper Acetal instead of Nickel Acetal), and was wondering if anyone looking to buy the CA block would be willing to order the NA instead so I could swap out with them. I figure it would be cheaper for me to pay both ways on that deal rather than ship the thing back...

NVIDIA Announces The New Titan X

Or in my case: the TXP is roughly doubling the 1070 in a lot of the reviews I've seen - but factoring in current prices, waterblocks, backplates, and fittings, the cost difference is ~$80. PLUS not having to worry about SLI compatibility or stuttering.

NVIDIA Announces The New Titan X

Considering the negligible price difference between 1070 SLI and a Titan XP when waterblocked (~$100), I'm heavily leaning towards a TXP. Does anyone know how warranty claims tend to go on Nvidia-built cards? Do they void your warranty if you waterblock it?

    New Titan X announced, 12GB GDDR5X, $1200

Although any game that doesn't have an SLI profile probably wouldn't need more than a 1070 anyways... I guess I'll wait and see how the Titan performs at 4k. I think it's about time I ditch triple-wide for gaming.

    New Titan X announced, 12GB GDDR5X, $1200

I was planning on doing 1070 SLI, but factoring in waterblocks the price difference between SLI and a single Titan is ~$150. Now I've had good experiences with SLI, but that was back in the 4xx/2xx eras. Everything I hear these days is negative, so is it worth the $150 to go for a beefy single...
