For me I have a HTPC in the livingroom. I can play some games but most recent titles I just run an HDMI cable from my gaming rig in the den/room next door through a low voltage wall box. THen I use my 360 controllers on that PC to play. Wireless KB/Mouse also work but I prefer my FPS games on a...
Yeah it is tough. Having 4 kids under 9 here and finding time to play means after they go to bed. So this keeps me up until 11 or midnight on week nights if I want to get immersed in anything.
I also run a Q6600 @ 3.2 with a 6950 running the 6970 bios. The CPU is my limiting factor also. However I upgraded to a x5650 but the reason wasn't for gaming. I upgraded because the Q6600 doesn't support Hyper-V on Windows 8 since the Q6600 doesn't support SLAT.
Seems like a good deal to me. Pressure test it and then roll with it. The only moving parts are the fans. Nothing to worry about that some bars leak can't fix haha.
Doesn't Hyper-V only require VT-X not VT-D?
I see this on Intel's site: for example on the 4770k "Intel® VT-x with Extended Page Tables (EPT)" = YES
With that said I don't know that I would have a need for VT-D.
I am contemplating upgrading my q6600 @3.2 to something that will allow me to run Hyper-V on win 8.1. I do a lot of development, VS/BizTalk/SQL, work on my laptop now with multiple VMs running at once but I need to upgrade my workstation finally.
I like the thought of running an X5650 OC'd...

Thanks,

I am in the same boat. I don't want to build a 4th htpc for my master bedroom. I want a simple box to hook up that will stream my netflix account as well as my mkv files. I am waiting fingers crossed for the popbox to be released this spring.
If you're going to do something illegal (premeditated) then take the battery out of the phone or better yet leave it in someone elses car so you have an alibi. Honestly mr Government I was no where near that crime scene. Check your cell phone tracking logs for my whereabouts. Now get the driver...
Thanks for the deal. I jumped on it. It was a toss up between ths L32S1 and this http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?sku=A2373376
However the tax from Dell sealed the deal on the 32" from Amazon. This is a bedroom HTPC setup. Viewed from 8' away. Don't really need the 37"...
Yeah verify the warranty transfer. You will want it if you can get it. However most devices would probably be out of warranty by the time it's for sale anyways.
