    GPU recommendation for 1440p?

Thanks all...I think I am going to go with the 1070. I am not needing to run bleeding edge AAA titles and it is at the price point I feel is good for my needs. Appreciate the input and help.

    GPU recommendation for 1440p?

Hello, I have been out of the hardware scene for a while now. I have a Core i7-3770k LGA1155 CPU and 16GB of RAM running on an Asus Maximus Formula V mainboard. I recently purchased a Dell U3415W (3440x1440 native resolution) and was wanting confirmation that a GTX 1070 or 1080 would work for...

    Dell U2412M

I have 3 of them and have purchased another 10 or so for my customers. I think they work very well for gaming. I haven't noticed any issues.

    Upgrade Question...

Yes, usually when I upgrade I just end up building a new system including case, PS, etc. Then I give my old system to one of my sons or daughter who are all gamers. It keeps their system fresh and avoids having to tear apart and rebuild, reinstall, etc. Cost for parts I need to build a new...

    Upgrade Question...

I have a Lynnfield i5 750 2.67GHz running at 3.715GHz. I am considering upgrading to an IB Core i7-3770. Wondering if anyone else had a similar setup and if you think it was worth it to upgrade? Adding to my concern: I just got an AMD 7970 for Christmas and am wondering if I am going to...

    Eyefinity 3x24" vs. 1x30"

Thanks, for all the posts and feedback. I just received some additional parts for the EF setup today and am going to get it rolling this weekend so will see how it goes. Practically speaking I do IT work for a living and could probably use the 3x24. I am actually thinking of going 1-over-3...

Thanks. So, in my case, the tearing may occur on the DVI-to-DVI connected display?

    Eyefinity adapter question

So, my new GPU has DVI, HDMI, and 2 MiniDP outputs. I have 3 Dell u2412m which have both DVI and regular DisplayPort inputs (but no HDMI). 1 x DVI to DVI 2 x MiniDP to DisplayPort I am not sure how best to connect the latter two displays from MiniDP on the GPU. Would there be any reason not...

    Eyefinity 3x24" vs. 1x30"

Oldie, thanks for the info. That's a lot of screens. :) With your setups, I am curious if you have had any issues with graphics tearing with the 3rd monitor and EF? A few people were telling me that when you have 2 screens connected via miniDP to DVI and the other on DVI-to-DVI the latter...

    Eyefinity 3x24" vs. 1x30"

Thanks, you guys confirmed what I was thinking when I woke up this morning. For work purposes 3x24 is better for my needs. I think I may order one of those stands.

    Eyefinity 3x24" vs. 1x30"

Yes, please do. I would like to see how you have it setup. I think one of these would be pretty sweet with 3x24". For now, I could even put a spare 21" Dell on top.

    Eyefinity 3x24" vs. 1x30"

5760x1200 for the 3x24" (Dell u2412m). 2560x1600 on the 30" (however I would also use my current u2412m as a secondary monitor with the 30" and maybe a third monitor as well. Thus, I am not sure I have to be that concerned over lost pixel space as it will be minimal once I hook up a couple...

    Eyefinity 3x24" vs. 1x30"

So could use some advice here. I currently have one U2412M. I have two more of them unopened upstairs for an Eyefinity setup I was putting together. However, am starting to have second thoughts now after reading posts in various threads about single 30" displays being preferred for gaming and...

    Eyefinity/Surround Questions

Will be interested in your results with the 680. I am in the process of doing the same thing and am also running a 5850 right now. I picked up a 7970 though and have a 3x24" setup. Somewhat discouraged hearing about the DP to DVI tearing. Is this a driver issue?

    Mini dp to dp question.

http://support.amd.com/us/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity-dongles.aspx From what I understand this essentially means that if you are going directly from the GPU via miniDP to the monitor via DP then active is a non-factor since you are not using a dongle/adapter (i.e. just the direct cable).

OK, so both cards arrived yesterday. Installed both, did a clean install of latest drivers and so far the cards are working great! Again, thanks go out to eVGA for the great customer support and warranty service. I greatly appreciate it!

Two eVGA cards bad within 3 days! Warranty still good?

Yes, I am very happy with eVGA to say the least. My two boys are excited to get their new cards. They have been driving us nuts without their PCs. I didn't mention this here or to eVGA previously because I wanted to see what the end result would be. I own an IT consulting business and I do...

They have made a believer out of me for sure. Great customer service like this is very important. I started the RMA approval process so I would expect to send the cards off tomorrow or Thursday. They said 1-2 business days before I can ship which is fine. I like how well their online process...

Two eVGA cards bad within 3 days! Warranty still good?

Well, eVGA came through for me! They are going to replace both cards under warranty as a 1 time courtesy. I am beyond pleased with the service and will definitely buy eVGA for all of my Nvidia cards. I also do a lot of builds for customers and having this kind of lifetime warranty is good...

Yeah, I think I will try the baking thing if eVGA does not honor the warranty. Seems like a lot of people have good luck with it.

Two eVGA cards bad within 3 days! Warranty still good?

So, my two sons both have eVGA cards in their PCs. On Sunday one of my sons came down and told me that he thought his video card was bad. Sure enough, his 8800 GTS 640MB had verticle red/blue lines and symbol character screen dump during POST. It would only boot into Windows in 4 bit color...

    Card died, need some advice...

Thanks for all the great advice. I appreciate it a lot. If the 6670 is faster than the 8800 GTX I think I will go with the 6670 on the Abit IP35 Pro board since my older son runs native @ 1680x1050. Then move the 8800GTX to the Intel D975XBX2 since I believe he was running 1440x900. BTW...

    Card died, need some advice...

Thanks, I think I want to get a new card (just because it's easier and faster). What about something like below? I don't think this is as powerful as my 5850, but would it be a decent upgrade for the 8800 GTX PC or should I put it on the PC where the card died? AMD Radeon HD 6670 2048MB...

    Dell U2412M

I ended up returning mine and getting a different monitor. I own 3 Dell UltraSharps, but the AG coating on their current panels was too much for me. The "flicker" you describe is what I thought was bothering me too. I found it was the AG coating that made it appear to flicker. Perhaps a...

    Best 27" monitor < $400

I tried a Dell u2412m, looked at an Asus VE278Q, and ended up purchasing the HP2711x. The Asus and HP are very close, but I preferred the glossy screen. Very pleased with the colors, contrast, and speed in games.

    HP 2711x

Recently purchased an HP2711x (last week). I really like it so far. It reminds me somewhat of the old Sony Trinitron CRTs. Colors are very good...text easy to read. Very minor backlight bleed on edges and bottom, but it's never noticable except on very black background and even then you have...

    Return Dell U2412M?

Found this article discussing the U2711 AG coating, but I suppose it applies to all of their UltraSharps: http://peterhallam.com.au/dell-u2711-anti-glare-review/ Maybe Dell will reduce or eliminate the AG in future models. It doesn't seem to bother some people though.
