I recently bought a 6tb Wd red. I was going to go with the Hgst but I read quite a few reviews about loud idle noise. Anyone have these and can comment?
I am in for one. Should be an upgrade over my m4. Now should I swap this with the M4 and use the MX100 as my system drive or use MX100 as my photoshop and games drive?
But if it's not for yourself you DID lie because technically YOU didn't buy a new PC since June.
Anyhow, I'm not opposed to people taking advantage of this. I'm just surprised this discussion is allowed because I'm pretty sure that getting the $15 W8 upgrade and lying about having bought a...
I'm surprised this discussion is allowed. Lying about having bought a PC in the past few months in order to reduce the cost of a W8 upgrade is no different than asking for pirated copies of the software.
Okay say you install buy the W8 upgrade and install it. Later on you want to upgrade your OS hard drive. Will you need to reinstall W7 and then install the W8 upgrade?
Is there any point in buying OEM versions since the current upgrade version is so much cheaper? I mean all you need is an old version of windows right?
Good deal if amazon doesn't charge you tax. Not particularly hot for me since newegg and BH don't charge me tax but amazon does. Still waiting for another 512gb deal.
I currently have a Performance MX and I'm thinking of picking up the G700. Would the G700 be an upgrade at all? I just picked up a G600 for MMO gaming purposes so this will be more or less for FPS and general gaming.
If you buy multiple download copies will you be receiving different keys so that you only need to download one installation file and use it to install the upgrade on different computers or will you need to download installation files individually.
Anyone know if the installation process for the download version will be the same as the disc version? I assume the download version would just be an installation file you can burn to a disc or save to a usb for easy reinstalls?
Most businesses don't upgrade their computers, nevermind their...
It's not going to be overboard and given the price of ram these days "why not?" is right. I notice a speed increase running photoshop going from 4gb ram (when I had to RMA my ram) and 12gb of ram. But be careful with mixing ram. There's also a risk there. I installed Ripjaws X alongside...
Interesting to read all the responses.
Question, does anyone know if the Win7 family packs are eligible for Windows 8 upgrade discounts? Maybe have to buy 3 discounted licenses?
I have a few Windows 7 Home Premiums, but I'm pretty sure a future build will include more than 16gb of ram. So with that in mind, I'm wondering if it's a good idea to pick up Windows 7 Pro before it is no longer for sale if Windows 8 is going to be bad for gaming. But that's just my situation...
I've done some research over the Gentle Typhoon over the years and I finally bought some for my HS during the last sale. For horizontal mounting and restrictive airflow applications, I believe the GTs are better. But as case fans, I've been using Slipstreams, partly because when I was looking...
Anyone? Plugging two fans to one fanmate seems "quieter" even though the fan speed is shown higher than I normally have it. I suspect the fans are spinning slower than indicated but I'm not sure.
Silly question, but why have all the graphics cards switched to mini displayport? As far as I know, high end monitors have displayport connections rather than mini displayport. I have a 5850 and it has displayport rather than mini displayport connections. Why the switch to mini displayport in...
I recently tried adding some more ram and unfortunately the new sticks that came back from RMA needs to be sent back again. I'm a bit impatient and I was thinking of buying a new ram kit. With that in mind, my current motherboard only accepts maximum of 16gb ram and with memory so cheap, I am...
I'm looking into buying this case to replace my P182. Can anyone tell me if the top 5 1/2 inch bays can accept 3.5" hard drives or can the case hold 6 hard drives max?
You can always email them or post on their forums about RMA status. My RMA was done relatively quick (although no notifications). Unfortunately, the ram that came back from the RMA seems defective. I say "seems" because I need to go to a local store to try it on another computer to see if it's...
