Well it removes the dithering! thanks for that.
The monitor still has the green and pink tint on it, as expected, this would only solve the dithering.
If someone needs the files and if they get removed I have a backup.
I don't understand what is the big problem to Dell if users do this...
check this image in full screen: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/viewing_angle.php#angleGrey
You will notice the tinting if the corners have a green, pink or blue shade.
Where was yours manufactured? and which date of manufacturing?
In my case for sure I will ask for another one, this...
No its not rare! Its quite COMMON! So common that Dell considers it as a spec.
Touch sensitive buttons are not that great.
Anti-glare coating is not great.
Dithering is not great....
lucky. what's the serial number? Or what's the factory location and date?
overclocky check this picture in full screen it will boost the tinting: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/viewing_angle.php#angleGrey
mine shows a noticeable green on the left corner and blue in the right like yours...
Save your money and time and don't, or do if you pretend to sell it for a higher price as they are much more expensive. I wouldn't pay more than 100EUR for it if I knew it had so many issues.
DCR in this monitor is bad enough to have it turned off. It could be helpful in games or movies but...
You're right, I know its not commendable to try it because of all that, but I could just to relieve my concern.
Well... unfortunately for everybody, except UPS business, I think I need to try another monitor.
Is there REALLY any U2410 without tinting and uniformity issues? What is the...
yes for now.
I found that the tinting areas are coincident with the backlight bleeding areas visible on a black screen. I am thinking about dismantling the monitor and put some electrical tape around the panel as someone done to other monitor to fix or reduce the bleeding. Maybe any other...
If you don't notice any slightly colored shades in that area then try to increase brightness, and/or change to Custom color mode as this mode has the best whites in my opinion, maybe it can solve that.
It wouldn't be normal to me. Do you notice any color shift/tinting in that area on white backgrounds? Ask for a replacement. Dell will sure have a bad time with this exchanges back and forward. Lets hope they learn the lesson and make things right!
Another U2410 coming tomorrow, will be number 3 . The idiot spanish speaking bad Portuguese insisted the tinting problems where caused by the cable! wtf... looks like they don't know this issue much.
lol
First of all don't buy this thing if you have any color critical work, or you are too sensitive to color variations.
I now have a new U2410 replacement next to the first one, and I don't know which one is worst in terms of color consistency! :p :o Manufactured in Czech Republic November...
Dell is only one so I hope the costumer service is as good as in USA or UK. I'll call them tomorrow and see how It'll go. I'll post more news.
setekh are you from Portugal? do you have the U2410?
I hope you are right because tuga (Portuguese) sellers are very nasty and don't care about warranty or whatever they just want to sell you another product.
Another picture, this is from a black screen. Probably the backlight bleeding has something to do with the tinting, because this areas...
Yes U2410 comes with one VGA cable.
Is there any IPS monitor better than U2410 at 26 or 27" and higher resolution that doesn't suffer any of this ridiculous problems? I'll make the trade right now.
Dell website is a bit confusing :p hidden documents and pages, URL hacking works etc probably just bad webdev lol
I'm getting pissed with my U2410 green pink tint issues, I don't know if its getting worse or if I'm more aware of it, I'm not enjoying it and so I am going to demand a new one...
If you get lucky getting a U2410 with no green/pink tint go buy one!
I bought the U2410. It looked very nice in the beginning but now I'm getting fed up with this tinting issue.
Or the green/pink issue Is getting worse with time, or I'm getting more sensitive with the colours accuracy.
It doesn't do 1680x1050.
Here's my previous post:
Preset Display Modes
The following table lists the preset modes for which Dell guarantees image size and centering:

Haa there is a small plastic tongue you have to pull next to the USB ports and card reader, with the display info and SN. Mine is made in Czech in August 2009, Rev A00 unfortunately.
Using the lagom test http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php I only can see some dithering if I ramp up the...
Nice to hear the new firmware is now shipping on new monitors. How can one tell which firmware is on Dell U2410?
My U2410 arrived today, I'm typing from it right now. Its great! With dynamic contrast on looks much better than my old 17" CRT!
Didn't spot any bad pixels;
The green-pink tint is...
Dell website sucks. The link was not available I just guessed it. ;)
The monitor should do 1920x1080 pixel mapping at 1920x1200 with black bars so you're safe.
I was wondering if its possible to swap the U2410 stand for a nicer one? The Dell 2408WFP has a much more stylish base stand. Is...
For what I've read the monitor can do all that: pixel mapping, picture in picture, etc.
Preset Display Modes
The following table lists the preset modes for which Dell guarantees image size and centering:
Display Mode Horizontal Frequency (kHz) Vertical Frequency (Hz) Pixel Clock...
I see there is a **B grade** U2410 monitor selling at overclockers. http://overclockers.co.uk/search_results.php?sortby=&groupid=&search=u2410
what does the B grade mean?
BTW Anyone any European webshop selling the U2410 cheaper than overclockers?
edit: ups... just order it  :D...
From my limited experience I think all LCD monitors with anti-reflective coating have this grainy effect, and I think its not a serious issue. But if you tend to focus on that instead of what's is being displayed on the screen it might drive you nuts.
One might try a radical approach and...
