Is this caused by a bad display port cable?
The monitor works fine on DVI-D. Ordered a DP cable from ebay and I get this:

Sometimes I do get the monitor to display correctly (keep tinkering between DVI-D and DP), but then at the next restart it starts...
I have bought the ASUS 7970 directcu II. However, from what I can tell the voltage is locked
I am basically having the exact same limit as hardcop review here http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/03/11/asus_hd_7970_directcu_ii_video_card_review/3#.UjMwBz9N1I0
My maximum is 1180mV, with the...
So looks like I am unlucky and my brand new MSI 7950 came with coil whine :/
Not only it whines, but it's very loud. Distractingly loud. It only whines in games basically. And it is not dependent on FPS. Some games like World of Tank will whine at 60-70 FPS. Tried some tests on Kombustor and...
I am set on buying a MSI Z87 board. While I was contemplating on getting the GD65 (I don't want to skimp on motherboards or PSU's), I noticed how the GD45 is 40$ cheaper. AFAIK, in terms of performance, the GD65 has 12 phases while the GD45 8 phases. I don't really know what exactly they mean...
I'm trying to decide between
MSI Radeon HD 7950 Twin Frozr III 880MHZ 3GB 1250MHZ GDDR5 DVI HDMI 2xMini DP DX11 PCI-E Video Card
and
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 Windforce 900MHZ 3GB 5GHZ GDDR5 DVI HDMI 2XDP PCI-E Video Card
Here are my points (please take into consideration I live...
I would've liked to be able to get that MSI for that price. Unfortunately being in Canada, the only available deal currently is on the Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 Windforce for 245$ after 25$ mail in rebate.
Under reviews it does perform slightly better, is quieter and OC's equivalently to the...
For gaming, I have the option of going
2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws X F3 DDR-2133 CL11 for 73 CAD
or
2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws X F3 DDR-1600 CL9 for 67 CAD
First, not sure if the extra clock over latency is actually improving performance.
Also not sure if ram speeds in itself improve gaming...
7970 is still 100 $ or so more expensive. If I'd consider that, of consider waiting for the 9000 series. But I really don't want to spend more than 300$ and the 7950 will pretty much play anything I'll throw at it. I do come from a 4870 and honestly I can still play the new titles at medium or...
Thanks for the suggestions. That MSI does look very good. Unfortunately being in Canada means I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the rebate from newegg. Checking pcpartpicker looks like us prices are roughly 40 cheaper. Ncix does seem to be having the gigabyte 7950 on sale for 245 at the...
Trying to decide which to get. I was debating waiting for the AMD 9000 series but I am realising that even the 9950 (equivalent of 7950) will prolly cost ~400$. I believe the best performance/price is with 7950 (or the newer 760 series) for the years to come.
Now, at the moment I am a bit of...
I currently have a WRT54GL router, which of course only has speeds of up to 100mbps.
I am looking to buy a switch to attain 1000mbps speeds on my network, and be able to use 1000mbps speed when transferring and streaming from my NAS (buying a new router is way to expensive and I don't have...
The cheapest prices I could find were on Amazon.com for DS1812 @ 929$ USD. For DS413J at NCIX for 439$ CAD but includes a 2TB WD Red.
I want to pull the trigger now. I'm inclining to get the DS1812 from amazon.com unless I can find a better deal for the DS1812 or DS413J in contrast with the...
Hey guys, anyone who ordered from HP website, if you check out with paypal, where do you put your address to be shipped? Or does it automatically ship to the address you have on paypal? Is there anywhere you can set up the address to be shipped? (like when you checkout with a credit card?)...
Thank you for the B&N link. Guess I answered my own question when it said that the product did not qualify for the 25$ free shipping. Oh well, total came to 116$ with ship and tax.
Anyone knows where I could get 1 16GB one? All the places I know of are sold out. Also how come the amazon still sells them for 400$? CostCentral also has none available when searching for it.
Thanks
N.B. Sorry if it's somewhere answered, but I didn't had the patience to read through all...
Main culprit would be GPU. As the above poster said, try to swap it with another and see if that fixes it.
Also, did you upgraded your drivers before it started acting up? Maybe you might want to roll them back, see if that fixes it if that's the case.
When you are comparing the MHZ, you should look into timings. Actual size has nothing to do with performance, unless all it's occupied, at which point the HDD is used to swap files.
Hi,
So I managed to get a WD20EARS for 63$ on sale. I haven't picked it up yet, and I am wondering if maybe the prices will go even lower. I honestly don't really need the storage right now, and seeing how the 3TB's are fastly approaching 100$ or lower, I have my doubts now that this was a good...
I know most SSD are fast, most of them with very comparable speeds. But who has the best reliability? They are suppose to be as reliable as ram and bla bla bla but I see SSD's failing left and right, much more so than HDD's.
So should I get an Intel? Corsair? Maybe a Kingston? (these brands pop...
