How Did Egypt Turn off The Internet?

Why would the White House want an internet kill switch? If anyone ever actually pushed the button to kill the internet, it would be the end of their family tree - let alone their political career.

Worker Dies From Poisoning At Apple Touchscreen Plant

I'm no Apple fan, so I'm kind of surprised that it bugs me that some of your guys are spelling Steve's last name wrong. As for people expiring in the work place... Apple should only deal with companies that have decent safety standards if they want to avoid PR flaps. If Apple doesn't care...

White House Picks New Cyber Coordinator

Look what they did to GM and similar - they got rid of the people that know the industry and replaced them with pinheads with no expertise - all while not addressing the real problem that is UAW. Lots of people in our current administration have no relevant experience to show that they have...

White House Picks New Cyber Coordinator

So the White House, which continuously blames the "previous administration" for everything wrong with the world is still using Bush administration officials (from corporate america) to lead efforts in filling key posts in the government? This is genius. When we get cyber attacked they can...

Government to Award Stimulus Funds for Broadband

No. But you will get to pay for it both ways, it is your patriotic duty: You get to buy your internet (pay the company) and someone else's (pay the government). Isn't socialism grand?

    Internet Shoppers Reminded of Tax

I dunno about one problem and one cure... but you're making much sense. One of the other problems I see is that people are not aware of what they are paying. Like another poster was saying: we are taxed when we make it, taxed when we spend it... and we're also taxed when we die... but that's...

Pandemic Options Include Crippling Home Modems

Also, I just happened to think.... I PAY FOR MY NET ACCESS. They better compensate for this encroachment on my paid service. Of course, no one gives a crap that I don't get what I pay for. I'm already doing it with Social Security: big pay in and get far less back (maybe nothing)

Pandemic Options Include Crippling Home Modems

Of course no one will have a problem with this until their speed is cut to 1Mbps. Then what when they decide that they need even more bandwidth, so the cut everyone's speed down to 56k - they have opened the door so they can incrementally cut you off altogether. Go on trusting Big Brother.
