Have to ask because other than The Witcher 3, I don't really see anything that I know of that's worth upgrading my pc's for. I just hope I overlooked some but seems like a boring year for games so far again....
It looks like a cheesy mobile app store now full of rubbish indie and unfinished (early access) games. Comparing stream from two three years ago till now it's defiantly gone downhill. Spending loads of time looking for some quality new releases or upcoming and having to sort through angrybird...
Currently using a Silverstone Temjin Series TJ08B-E which got excellent reviews for a micro-atx case from users on Newegg. I purchased this case and have had nothing but awful cooling for any graphics cards I put in here. CPU cooling and hdd cooling has been excellent but when my graphics...
I've been playing with the idea of getting another SSD for games. Or just going the cheap budget route and getting a newer WD Black FZEX or Velociraptor drive to store games on. SSDs are still pretty expensive and don't know if it's worth it yet. I do know of a few games that benefit greatly...
Was wondering about this? Maybe doing an upgrade from my 30" 2560x1600 Dell to another monitor once I see more g-sync capable monitors hit the market. My eyes are very sensitive to blur and stutter and would like to get a monitor that omits that completely if possible.
My ssd crashed and need a new one. Thinking about either a: getting a 500 gb ssd for around 300 bucks, or jumping on a deal for a 250 for around 120-150 and grabbing a 2tb black or new velociraptor to go with the ssd. Are the game load times that much faster with an ssd? I know battlefield is...
With so many people claiming more vram is more future proof, is there any study going back to let's say a GTX580 between 1.5 gig and 3 gig proving if more vram can future proof by allowing higher settings in games today like Battlefield 4, Crysis 3, etc?
Right now I have 2 GTX480's, a 2500k powering a 60" led and a 30" 1600p monitor. It was either a power outage that killed the card, or the fact that I had the power cable to one of the cards really tight and it shorted out. Confirmed card was dead today and I'm looking to move forward.
So...
First off Internet Explorer crashes and keeps giving me warning boxes when using the IE in desktop. Does not do this when I use IE from the start menu.
But my main problem I'm having is none of my computers go to sleep, monitor doesn't shut off, and even my screensaver doesn't work. The...
About how much faster would the 7970 be against the 7950 or the GTX680 at 2560X1600. Right now I'm playing the Witcher 2 again and going to be playing Borderlands 2 with maybe Guild Wars 2 in the near future.
Basically if more Vram and bigger bus = better performance and more future proof, wouldn't the 7970 win in almost every game, even in triple monitor setups?
All the tests I've seen so far proves that anything beyond 2 gig Vram doesn't make a single bit of difference. Can someone please show...
I know a few games that load quicker off SSD... BF3 and SWTOR. Does Skyrim load textures faster? Is there any other benifits for games? Was thinking of getting a 256 SSD dedicated just for games.
Was going to buy another Vertex 3 and raid them. I'm sick of hearing my Velociraptor Drive spinning away everytime I load games and wanted a quieter, faster solution for games. Also will have my OS on the raided drives.

I hope this is true. I don't think 1 GTX680 is going to max out all my games on a 30" 2560X1600 monitor but hopefully this will!!! :D
I have an Onkyo 5.1 surround that I'm trying to optimize for the best surround sound. Recently I found that I could not get true 5.1 surround through fiber optic cable unless I had a sound card that did Dolby Digital Live. So I purchased a Creative Recon3D sound card that does this but I am...
No suprise it's Creative right?
First off it's nice to finally take advantage of my Onkyo HT 5.1 surround sound. Games are sounding really nice. No issues here.
Problem is when I have Dolby Digital Live enabled, I have to output the sound through the speakers by selecting it as default...
I'm pretty happy with my Logitech G15 and G510 keyboards, however I just picked up Battlefield and SWTOR and I noticed I'm getting some slight hand fatigue from mashing the buttons. Do mechanical keyboards help remedy this? Does it really make the gaming experience that much easier? Is it a...
How is the performance on one card? Is it playable with medium, high, or ultra settings with the card overclocked? Just got into this game and can't run it for crap with my 4870....
Is it just me or since patch 1.2 the menu A button on the 360 controller hasn't worked? Has anyone else experienced this? Pisses me off because I can't even exit the game properly or select items. I play on my 60" from my couch so mouse and keyboard is not preferred.
I'm looking for best solution to tie me over to play skyrim, witcher 2, and maybe swtor on my 2560x1600 monitors. I don't need to max out all the settings, but smooth performance if possible. I already know the witcher 2 probably isn't going to run, but I can hold off on that game if I get...
Currently I own a Vertex 3 for my OS and several hdd's for storage. I'm currently using a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 Tb drive for my games but the drive keeps dropping out once every couple days and I'm getting sick of it. I changed the ports on the motherboard and switched the cable and only way...
I had my chip at 4.5 when I first got it. Was stable at 1.35volts and temp was in the low 70's with prime95. Because of this hot summer I just lowered my clock to 4ghz at 1.17v and now I'm only getting 57 in prime 95. This chip is unreal. Still faster then my I7 920 at 3.6ghz...
I'm...
I just don't think 2560X1600 is doing it for me anymore. Too much horsepower, and sick of my room being a heater trying to power these GTX480's.... Anything exciting happening with monitors that don't require your room to become a space heater to power? I don't think seeing squiggly lines and...
Sorry if this is not the proper place to post this, didn't know of any other forum given the circumstances...
I was having issues with my motherboard sata ports dropping hdd's a while back. Posted a thread a while ago. What was going on (I have an Asus P6T Lga 1366) the sata connectors to...
I upgraded my cooler to the Zalman cooler and decided to sli my cards. I threw away the stock cooler and the zalman doesn't work well in sli. Does anyone have the stock cooler they would be willing to sell?
Been having this issue with this motherboard Asus P6T now for some years and lately seems to be getting worse. Every so often when I go to reboot my computer the drive detection hangs up for like five minutes until it boots into windows. When I get into windows, the drive that it was hung up...
When running a single GTX 480 with this cooler temps are fantastic. 38C idle and 80C overclocked in a Silverstone FT2 case with fans on low.
When I put my other GTX 480 with the stock cooler in for SLI this card can't handle the temps. The GTX 480 with the stock cooler only gets up to 72C...
As an owner of both camps, an current owner of SLI GTX480 I'm finally getting fed up.
Now I have no complaints at all on the performance of these cards in single, or sli mode. And yeah the noise and heat is kinda whatever. Doesn't really bother me. I slapped a Zalman cooler on one card...
I have a Cosmos S case so plenty of room for set up plus radiator can mount easily on the top. Currently have an H70 for processor so no need to get a block for the cpu. Also have a northbridge aftermarket cooler for my mobo (Asus P6T)
Problem I'm having is I currently switched one of my...
Anyone ever have this problem? I only see it mainly on light colored backgrounds, either solid light grey or during lighter colored backgrounds. Usually during solid colors it's not there.
This is a few faint squiggly lines on the right hand side that don't even go all the way up, and seem...
Since most the information is pulled off memory at lightning fast speed with way more bandwidth then hdd's. I could see people needing more bandwidth then hdd's give you but for ssd's seems like a waste.
Current setup:
Core I7 920 currently overclocked 3990 with HT on
GTX480 overclocked to 800/1600/2200
DDR1600 ram @1554 1.6V
Asus P6T Motherboard
CPU cooler: Coolermaster V8
Am looking for more effiecent cooling. The fan on the GTX480 is noisy as hell and my room turns into an oven...
Just got my surround sound hooked up and sounds great. But when playing 5.1 movies through my pc which is hooked up to my GTX480 via HDMI cable, my computer does not recognize it as a 5.1 source. Instead when I go into the hdmi audio driver, just recognizes it as a 2 channel source.
Anyone...
Sick of having to pay for top of the line graphics cards and don't really know if the extra pixels are worth it. Was thinking a 37" would be more submursive and take less power and less money in the long run. Should I do it?
The LED TV's look nice. Plus I will be sitting between 3-5 feet...
Help me out guys.
I currently have like $500 burning a hole in my wallet for upgrades. Currently sick of my system and it's high temps and noisy fans. I want to eithe upgrade my case to a Corsair 800D, my motherboard to the MSI Big Bang LGA 1366, and get a Corsair H70 cooler for my CPU...
Is it true that at current Gddr5 memory speeds that the amount of memory can only be up to four times the bus? I remember reading back a few years ago when graphics cards comming out with Gddr3 memory and 256bit bus people were saying that it was a waste of memory after 512megs because the...
For a 2560X1600 monitor, maybe upgrade in the future to surround view, which is better? Is there any benchmarks comparing these cards both single and sli/crossfire at 2560x1600 resolutions?
I know I've asked this before, but seeing now that fermi is going to be out soon and the 5970 being not much more expensive for more performance, is it worth to upgrade now? I play games like borderlands and will be getting metro 2033......
You're gonna run optical out to a 5.1 surround sound reciever and system? I currently ripped out my x-fi fatality because of popping and static issues. I was amazed though by the surround sound I now hear off my reciever and onboard audio.
I guess my question points to if I get a new...
