Finally a replacement for my Shield Portable. :)
Since I travel a lot this will be a perfect replacement for carrying 2 heavy laptops (gaming & work). Hopefully swapping the OS is as straight forward as Valve has said so I can install other game services and other voice apps. Really need a...
The bots who took all the 3080's and kept you from getting one may have done you a favor.
Insta buying a 3080 before waiting on benchmarks from the other 3XXX or even worse before RDNA2 is shown next month is just as crazy as buying a 2080/2080ti in the last 90 days.
I get some people are...
Denver had 30+ this morning but a line all the way down the shopping center. I stopped counting at 100 people in line.
I know a BB here got 2 in stock and they went to employees.
I don't get the launch day rush.
Call a majority of us gun shy but we have heard that from AMD and "reliable" AMD sources before. From Hawaii to now, AMD always seems to be behind NV especially at the top tier.
Don't get me wrong, I would love AMD to smack NV around like in the past. Just won't hold my breath or get excited...
Alphacool just stated their Eiswolf and Eiswolf 2 can handle the 3080 and 3090 TDP. Only the full block Aurora is available now but the Eiswolf pump/block are due in the next few days.
Anyone who panic sells the 2XXX series now deserves the hit they take.
We don't even know 3XXX availability and if there is a shortage you will find 2XXX creep back up in pricing. Look at the 1080ti card pricing. It initially slumped then shot back up when you couldn't find 2080 or 2080 Ti cards.
Since NV is trying to streamline their product naming I don't see a Ti fitting in.
What I do think will happen is super or refreshed models hitting in 9 months or so. This will also help combat RDNA2 if needed.
I will go with whatever is fastest in my budget. Actual numbers not leaks.
At this point I don't have a ton of hope from Big Navi, just due to constantly being let down by AMD, but lets see what the actual benches say.
For 1440p a super will be more than fine and same with the 9700K,
At 1440p the GPU becomes the bottleneck. I run a 9700K at 5.1 and have zero issues with my Ti.
3700X would also work just fine.
Exactly! Like heroin or buying latest gen halo GPUs. It's not a problem, it's a luxury. :)
Unfortunately both lead to uncomfortable sit downs with your family.
Back on topic. It is still all rumors and speculation. Once the cards are in the wild then we will know the truth.
Depends what you mean by cheap.
The cheapest route is the Kraken kit but you need to buy a compatible AIO so you are talking $100+ by the time you are done.
Fan cools the VRM/memory but I would invest in heatsinks for them.
Kraken is just not as aesthetically pleasing as the other full...
All of the RT 3XXX will run so fast I will have to turn off the turbo button on my case just to slow the games down enough to make them playable. Just like the old days! ;)
In reality, 15-20% improvement, same pricing as current gen.
1/3 will buy them, 1/3 won't and will hold out for the...
I believe CFR just needs mGPU in the game engine and it is NV's drivers that use CFR rather than AFR. In the inspector you select how the GPU renders the SLI. Either AFR or CFR. Everything I read on 3DCenter made it sound like it works now with zero stutter but the scaling isn't as high as AFR...
Not only engine devs but Nvidia has continued to work on mGPU and new tech for it as well. NV is still working with AFR but has put more effort into Checkerboard Frame Rendering (CFR) rendering for NVlink capable GPU's. CFR is still scaling at about 50%, compared to 90% for AFR, in Crysis but...
I ended up with the same combos as you listed except for the x570. I used the X470 Gaming 7.
Initially had bios issues with the 3700x but that was right around launch and its solved now.
Both MB were rock solid. I kept the 9700x for my gaming rig since it is now doing 5.1 (all cores) on an...
I did the same upgrade and cannot hear the 2080ti black with auto fans (afterburner). My H115i is louder but that barely makes a sound on balanced.
Are you using the stock curve or an aggressive one?
In my case (Corsair 540) the card maxes at 74º during gaming with auto fan curve and it...
I haven't seen any stuttering, even when streaming or running numerous background apps for VR, but everyone's setup is different.
I have read on numerous forums that Slack can cause stuttering on rigs. Don't know why and never replicated it but a simple internet search will bring up posts.
9700K is an awesome gaming chip if you don't need the extra threads. Mine will easily do 5.1 with a AIO cooler.
With Microcenter you can get the 9700K for $300 and a discount on the MB.
If your rig mixes gaming and a lot of productivity then look at the 3700X or 9900K.
I had two Rift S headsets on two different rigs and it just listed them as separate devices in the app. No issues with the room scale setup as it seems to be set to the device not account.
I was not able to run 2 instances of Bigscreen or other apps under the same Oculus App sign-in. I was...
The design is cool but not for a nation wide chain. I can see this tied into some coffee bar or bar bar like we have here in Denver but not large amount of stores.
The retro change will just prolong the inevitable enough to raise the stock prices a few bucks and allow the officers to punch out...
Open-World at least gives the user options.
Do you want to do all or some of the occasionally tedious side missions/activities/etc or just knock out the SP missions and move onto another game? It's your choice. That is what I love about OW games. I can do as little or much as I want. GTA5 and...
I would be more concerned with censorship than surveillance. Very little can be done to stop a municipality from blocking certain sites or content they choose to block.
Around May if they are following the Spring/Fall alternating schedule they have used in the past.
NV might also be waiting on the larger Navi 5800/5900 to launch then announce immediately following to take any thunder away from the competition. AMD might be the first to 7nm but performance...
:wideyed: - Holy shit dude!
Who is they? Some large pro Nvidia group trying to keep AMD down? Some large conspiracy to hide amazing AMD GPU's from us normies? WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! Comments like that are why no one will take you seriously.
OK, I'll bite.
Post a reply with one known and...
I have read a bunch of your posts and I believe people are "attacking" you because you don't present facts. Almost every post of yours is full of conjecture.
It seems to be less of an attack against you and more calling you out for not posting anything substantive. Just rumor mill speculation...
IDK, RDR2 with 4K and HDR looks really fucking good on the Xbox with a Z9D.
But I totally agree, it is hard to find a game that looks better on the console compared to PC.
I have all but stopped using Prime95 (newer than 26.6) since it places completely unrealistic loads/heat on the CPU. I have been sticking with AIDA64, OCCT, and Reelbench.
Sorry but I stopped using prime a while ago due to unrealistic stress and heat on the CPU.
Have you tried any other tool to test the CPU and your OC? AIDA64, OCCT, or ROG Real Bench?
If you reset your BIOS where is the 1.25v coming from?
I just picked up a 9700K with the Pro Wifi Aorus board.
Did you attempt to use EZ Tune? EZ Tune will set a voltage that is way out of line. Don't OC with it if you can.
Is the cooler seated correctly with the proper amount of TIM? I know it sounds silly just narrowing down the possible...
Which is why you should have actually read the first post of mine you quoted. Reading is fundamental after all!
I specifically said its for my GAMING rig. Even the Tech Jesus and other large reviewers are recommending the 9700K over the 3700X for gaming.
Also in the US the 9700K can be found...
What?
Might be easier for you to show what benchmarks you are looking at since every major review site/channel has the 9700K ahead of the 3700X in gaming benchmarks. The only one I can find that is not is Tomb Raider at 1440 in Guru3D's review.
