Yeah I was thinking about pushing them to XP, I just have to double check all the interface cards and software will be happy with the change. These machines have been developed over the past few years on win2000, so I'm not sure how much trouble it would be. Guess I might just stick to vnc, and...
The engineers here want a more reliable method of getting control of the machines in a production line for service without using vnc, because it is a service and the computer has to be able to start and log into windows under a user for it to work, not to mention customers might screw with it...
I was never good with colors. This saved my life

usually gives me an appealing palette, though I wouldn't know considering I'm the type of guy that needs a website to choose it for me. Anyways good place to start to make things look nice as far as that goes.

I would think these "categories" would be encapsulated in the search features, that way if you wanted to list "hard drives" you could just do a search on the category. That's my understanding at least.

did it have any additional connectors for power while it was mounted internally? do you have a link to your particular display? I know I had problems trying to power a vfd off usb because they tend to draw near or more than 500ma that the USB port is spec'ed at.

Thats true, I did a little programming in basic on some stamps and pics, I guess I should just root around for some projects for me to do so I can learn off of data sheets like the hardcore people. Maybe I'll take it upon myself to learn asm. Maybe something cool about how to build and design...
Hello,
I put in the paypal payment last week, and I'm gettin all antsy in my pantsy waiting for my Gen May subscription up. The charge shows up on my paypal, so just wondering.
Also, I have been having a problem for a long time with my PM's. It says that I can only send a PM every 60 seconds...
I remember looking up a book a while back on programming for the serial port that someone recommended for me. I can't remember the title, so I figured I would ask here to see what you guys know of. I want to use it more for reference,
Thanks a bunch,
-Mike
I would disagree. People like me who have a low trade rate on these boards would have an easy way to verify themselves with a trusted thrid party, so I can gain credibility to do the transactions I want without having to build a large collection of heatware references. Thats not to say you...
 anyone else going to sunnyvale? I dont really feel like commuting in traffic after work here in pleasanton, kind of a drive. I'm debating if it is worth getting there late after lots of traffic for tshirt mouse trinkets and dinner.
1. I like the flexible classified style listing. Often offers may consist of monetary and hardware offers, and there are a lot of offers that go up via email and pm, so it would be nice to be able to keep track of that sort of thing more easily.
2. I also would like to keep the garage sale...

IMHO heap INWIN cases are finger cutters. I don't know how many finger's ive sliced on those damn edges. I had the pleasure of being the first workers comp claim at my company and earned 3 stitches and a candy bar the last time it happened.
tip: if a case is sliding off a desk, dont try to...
from what i see in the picture, it shouldnt be hard at all, you're in luck. The ribbon coming off the bottom of the lcd module in image 2 is the first 14 pins of the standard 16 pin hd44780 interface. Simply wire that part up to your parallel port a la...
hey if youre interested, I would like to get my hands on one of those and play with them, I need a project to play with, would be fun in my spare time. email me, my pm's dont work

It all depends on how much space you have in your case.
If you have pleny of space, (ie mid-full tower) you can simply use a usb header on your motherboard, a la one of these , which I am sure you have million of, and use that to provide usb connection. you might lose some (or most likely a...

yeah the intel deal was looking sweet, almost made me want to endure bby for just that much longer so i could get the deal. Oh well, i think getting paid 2x more now is worth the loss in that damn sweet discount.
I'm looking to use the aluminum more as a tray in a larger enclosure, but there wont be any support underneath the sheet unless I absolutely need it, just wondering though.
Thanks,
-Mike
related question:
What would be a good thickness/grade of aluminum to use for a case? Something that wouldnt bow too much under the weight of components.

Just wondering where you all buy your lexan online, I'm looking for somewhere a little more robust than home depot, I need some fairly large sized sheets.
Thanks,
