From a source that I do not wish to name at this time, Dell has several warehouses full of monitor, printers, and the like all designed to get them over the holiday hump aside from the early startup with the Windows 7 launch.
Through some fancy accounting, they are yet to be carried on Dell's...
They are in the NA warehouses by the ton, Dell is just "playing games" with US & Canadian markets as the U2410 is almost available everywhere else!
The question really is pricing, Dell is not being consistent with introductory pricing with the U2410, in HK the U2410 is cheaper than the...
Just wait for the U2410, it has to be comming (available) in the US any day now, Dell would not want to loose the Windows 7 sales fever when it starts.
  Tim
Because they are not "one" company, and LGD is making a ton of money selling all the IPS panels it can make to any who will buy large lots, so LGE may get left out.
Tim
So far where the U2410 has been introduced, Dell has no consistency in pricing, in HK the U2410 is selling for less than the 2408WFP, and in EU the U2410 is selling for more.
Dell could go either way in the US, the "low ball" route, or the "take & make all you can" route; I think Dell is on the...
The HP LP2475w at or just under $ 500.00 (and at or below $ 400.00 for one or two special sales in the last few weeks at OnSale, today's OnSale price [it changes daily] is $ 442.11 "open box" stock ), and possibility the new Dell U2410 depending where the price comes in at US introduction...
You may be waiting a long time for OLED, and it seems like Dell has written off the next three months (WIN7 roll-out & holidays) and is going to stay very "aggressive" with pricing, especially with the U2410. It may be a deal that is hard to pass up.
Tim
Beleive the $ 500.00 number if HK is any indication, it looks like Dell may want to "push" these" out (like the 2209WA) to grab market share, and that they do have some "price room" to play with.
Tim
It comes from China, as it's final assembly point, I believe. Have not been able to confirm where the "testing" and "calibration" is performed . . .
Well Mike Dell has had his since May in his office, so he does not care!
Tim
If it (the U2410) does come in at a "low ball price" in the US, like it it is now in Hong Kong, it will be "scary", and "say much" about the sad state of the US economy.
With 90 days or so to the end of the year, this has been traditionally a time of "price rip-offs" and "limited availability"...
Thanks!
Formatting here is not easy, every forum out seems to have a "twist" on XML, HTML et al, and a "mass of rolling white text" just gives one a headache if it is read at all.
Using color to note "key points", that will be caught by most, and then if there interest, the lines...
No, but seems to be a "typical" uniformity issue, and along with the "lag factor", the main reasons that Dell seems to be moving away from Samsung panels (as in this case S-PVA) to LGD IPS (with the U2410).
Tim
With Dell it is difficult if not impossible to determine "book value", since there is not "distribution network", of wholesalers, retailers etc.
It just goes to prove that the U2410 has a book value about what the HP LP2475w is, that is somewhere about $ 350.00, and that in turn is in line...
I spoke with Dave this morning (17AUG2009), and LGE NA (US & CANADA) is now very well aware of the interest in these two monitors, and the ongoing discussions in these forums.
He will try to get some sort of "update" or "feeling" this week for us!

Two weeks ago, I got it for $ 412.00 less 10% . . . A reasonable price for a decent display, as I am also 100% text driven with either MS Office or Visual Studio. Thus no sense in waiting for the U2410, that would be at least $ 100.00 higher, if not $ 200.00 higher at first.
Tim :D
Both have the same LGD IPS panel LM240WU4, the electronics and processing is of a newer type on the Dell U2410, the Dell U2410 is pre-tested and calibrated at factory before shipment.
The Dell U2410 may also have a significant price premium over the HP LP2475w at first. Also the HP LP2475w...
Chris M. in the Dell forums, has already mentioned a U2710, no other details; one can suspect or very well guess that this would be the "final" Samsung S-PVA dump (from the 2709) to IPS as is the case with the U2410 (from 2409 S-PVA).
LGD seems to have some new unannounced IPS display panels...
No, and NO PRICING on dell.com yet.
Maybe we all should send an email to Dell's Chief Marketing Officer, Erin Nelson, requesting specifications and pricing, whose email address is:

Tim :)
You have the U in the wrong place, U2410, U2710, U2210, with the "U" signifying UltraSharp.
All current internal Dell documents I have seen seem to be expressing models this way.
