    AMD's ATI Catalyst 10.2 and 10.3 Preview @ [H]

Yes, please. My setup is a 30" 2560x1600 monitor in the center (landscape) with two 21" 1200x1600 monitors in portrait on either side. The total resolution is a perfect 4960x1600 and it would be amazing in eyefinity but it simply doesn't work. Please add support for configurations like this!

    EVGA 8800 ULTRA dying?

If eVGA does process my RMA, does anyone know what card they typically replace the 8800GTX with? I've heard previously that they give you a 9800 which isn't cool because those aren't as fast at high resolutions (and I have a 30" screen).

    3 Monitors

I can confirm that an 8800GTX works with a 9600GT to give 4 DVI/HDMI outputs. Well, until my 8800GTX died that is :( edit: That's tested under Vista and Windows 7 without any issues.

    EVGA 8800 ULTRA dying?

My eVGA 8800GTX just died on me while I was playing GTAIV. Now it doesn't even POST. I'm worried about the RMA process because I bought this card thinking it had a lifetime warranty but I just learned that I had to register it on their website within 30 days of purchase? Anyway I didn't do...

    GT300 taped out

Maybe or maybe not but that's not what you should be hoping for. The (essentially) two vendor performance graphics market has been boring for a while. The most interesting thing to happen recently is the flame war (however one-sided) between nVidia and Intel, going as far as to get the...

    GT300 taped out

How exactly do consumers benefit from keeping Intel out of the graphics market? I say bring it. If Intel puts nVidia/ATI to shame with a killer product, that will really put pressure on the market and that seems like it's good for everyone. I'm cheering for Intel in this round (not that I...

Gabe Don't Know Nuttin' 'Bout DRM

No matter how you slice it, STEAM IS DRM. I don't care if you like it or don't but it IS a form of DRM and should be treated as such. In my case, I choose to avoid it completely but I guess there are quite a few people who don't care. Honestly I much prefer the old Safedisc stuff for copy...

    Love your i7 920 ?

I'm a bit older than I once was, so my overclocking tends to be a little... off the peak shall we say. I've started to value things like headroom (margin), low Vcore, low temps, etc. Boring, yes, but even with that conservative attitude I'm running my '920 at 3.5GHz, below stock Vcore...

    i7 920 @ 3.5, but...

Yeah, I'm running an Intel X25-M SSD, so no bottleneck with the HDD. Maybe people who still use rotational magnetic drives might not see the 2x improvement in load times that I got. To anyone with the money: the Intel SSD has been the biggest single upgrade I have ever performed. I...

Also I should mention that the i7 (920) has been running 4 threads of prime95 torture (with checking on) since I posted that message several days ago. Only 3.5GHz I know but I'm not aiming for the stars here. I'm pleased with the performance and I probably won't push it any harder. The i7...

    i7 920 @ 3.5, but...

Sorry, it was so stupid I didn't mention it. I work for a company that develops PCIe hardware, and I left one of our prototype/development boards installed in the system while I was overclocking. Obviously there are some problems with our prototypes!! Anyway it's not production hardware so...

    i7 920 @ 3.5, but...

I didn't think anyone would have any comments :) It was a truly weird problem. If anyone is still puzzling over it, you can stop now. In frustration I put everything back to stock speeds and the problem still occurred. So I knew it was actually a hardware fault and I traced it down to a...

I'm using an Asus P6T Deluxe, 6GB of Corsair DDR3-1333, and an i7-920. In the BIOS, I set BCLK to 166MHz, left SpeedStep and Turbo mode ON, set Vcore to fixed 1.25V, and left everything else at minimum (stock) voltage. Memtest runs fine for hours, I can boot into Vista and run 12 hours of OCCT...

Simultaneous fullscreen 3D & video playback

I'm having trouble with one of my PCs. One is a Vista 64 box with an 8800GTX, and it can play a fullscreen game while watching a video on a second monitor without any trouble. The other is an XP32 machine with a 9600GT and it can't. When the game is running, the video window on the other...

    Q9550 65W?

Look at the way Xeon's work. There are multiple TDP versions of the quad cores at the same speed grade. For example, you can buy a 120W 3.0GHz Harpertown (SLASA) or get an 80W version of the same thing for a bit more money (SLANR).

    Nehalem?

So Intel is launching Nehalem late this year, and it's looking to have more cores, higher IPC, lower latency/higher bandwidth memory access, and faster clocks (I've seen 3.2GHz on an ES). Fine, but what is AMD planning to do about it? Surely not just a faster clocked 45nm Phenom? I'm just...

    ATI+nVidia in one system?

I'm looking for a $50 PCIe card with a DVI or HDMI port, low power consumption, no fan (passive heatsink) and decent ability to play HD video. Can the 7300GT do that? Or any other nVidia card? I'm open to suggestions. The alternative is I built a completely separate HTPC, which would be...
