I'm a RT snob and if that is important in 4K I would go for the 4090. I have a 4080, with RT maxed out and I play at 3440x1440. If you (OP) plan on turning down the RT settings then a 4080 is the better choice.

I really like DLSS 3.0. It really has improved my experience in Cyberpunk. It's still has texture glitches in some areas but the game is smooth. I think people really want tech that is baked into the game. Hardware dependent tech locks people out price and brand wise.

I remember when MSAA came out, made a lot of games unplayable anything above 2xMSAA. As cards get faster, experiences improve. MSAA runs smooth on any card today. There's a cycle to this and acceptance of RT will be here soon once consoles make use of it. Give it time.

I got into PC gaming because I saw Crysis in a gaming magazine. Never thought a game could look like that. The XBOX 360 already had games with amazing gameplay. I switched to PC because of visuals/framerate. Cyberpunk with RT is my current Crysis of today.

I had fun playing Crysis. Open world sandbox with amazing visuals. But some people think the game sucks. Having fun is a personal standard.

Native resolution didn't look it's best for me so I maxed out everything but enabled DLSS to Quality. Then I set the sharpness to 1.0. Looks great after doing that.

There's a video of an AMD rep that knew the 4080 performance before release, then positioned the 7900XTX into the same pricing tier. Nvidia also began GPU "sell through" in September-October and AMD followed right after.

Looking at the frame gap in DLSS3, I wouldn't pay more than $450-500 for a 3090/Ti right now. As this start to roll out to more games and frametimes continue to improve, people will shift over to 4000 series.

Now that DLSS3 is available for Cyberpunk, I went from happy to extremely happy. Going from the 3090 40-55fps to the 4080 120-140fps, makes my purchase well worth it. 3000 series is very very overpriced now.

4090 buyers are looking for MSRP while scalpers are looking for exclusivity. A 4090 with a basic cooler going for $1700 is in no mans land.

In Cyberpunk with Psycho RT at 3440x1440, it peaks around 270W but averages around 248-255W, undervolt is at 210-220W. If it draws more power at 4K I'm glad I game at 1440.

My FE runs at 52C on default fan curve. 2830Mhz stock. 240W. Sometimes I undervolt and get 210W and sub 50C temps. This coming from an 80C+ 3070Ti and 3090. The experience is amazing.
