Question regarding ESXi with ZFS build

The M1015 cards are flashed to IT mode, so no raid there for the ZFS. Regarding the chassi it's big enough to handle what I am aiming at ;). The Linux and Win7 VM are heavily loaded.

    Silverstone FT03... matx

I have a question, I am getting this case today and I am thinking about either using a Antec Kühler H2O 620 or a Thermalright MUX-120. I originally planned to use the Kühler but got the Thermalright MUX-120 for $20 new. It was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up ;). The motherboard I am using...

    Project: N.E.U.N.B.

Yes a filter, I have mounted a Antec Kuhler 620 on the top of the case (exhausting hot air out) and used a slim scythe fan in the front of the case as a intake fan. Here is a picture a took a few minutes ago with my mobile phone. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1742074/Xfinity_SG05_110526.jpg It was...

WHS Upgrade Plan - Feedback Needed

Thanks for your answer Pirivan, your build made me change my mind about what raid-card to use. So I bought a Areca 1880i-card as well. Bought a BBU to be on the safe side and to increase the performance. If you have any tips on how you set up your Server 2008 R2, please write them ;)...

WHS Upgrade Plan - Feedback Needed

Hard choices indeed! In my experience its better to buy hardware that you know for a fact that work with each other. Sometimes the mantra "it could work" is good, but in some cases its better to know before you put something together - especially if its a server ;). Its better for your wallet...

Best media server for the buck?

My goal at first was to have a server that can stream HD media content over my gigabit network. Will JBOD suffice or is the performance I get from having RAID preferable? I read somewhere that hard drives are capable of maxing out the gigabit network connection. I have chosen RAID 6 because I...

Best media server for the buck?

Best media server for the buck?

Nice one, I been trying to find a good guide for a while now! For me 10 TB will last a while and I will not expand anytime soon, but things can change of course ;). When I started this build I researched a lot, and WHS was on my list. And running Vail in Hyper-V is something I am still...
