I've had a variety of devices attached to that HDMI input without issue, and I've tried using the other HDMI input but the problem persists.
I used the tv for about four years without the HTPC connected and it never had the same issue, and still does not except when displaying from the HTPC...
I wasn't sure to post this in the HTPC forum or the display forum, this seems more appropriate....
I have a HTPC in one room with hdmi output to the television in the living room. The video card is a Radeon HD 6670. The tv is an older Dynex 42" that has been flawless since I got it maybe five...
this is exactly why i dropped the ps3 controller and went to the xbox controller. i also have a bluetooth keyboard for xbmc, and the motionjoy bluetooth drivers were like a bull in a china shop. almost everyday i would have to uninstall and reinstall bluetooth drivers for both devices. all so i...
+1 for the Microsoft wireless controller. First, it just works. The PS3 controller, and others, takes some third party programs to get going and can be finicky at best.
Past that, I find that my guests are less intimidated by the Microsoft controller since its familiar, so they'll dive right...
It's a good change of play from Skyrim and Batman for me. Over the top fantasy, styled like fable, light-hearted and dark at the same time. I'm kicking myself for destroying some Shepard armor early in the game.
The feel I get is that this is what Oblivion could have been if the developers got...
My only beef is that the game won't be available through Steam on launch day. Other than that I am extremely excited about this game. I originally played ME1 and ME2 on the consoles but I'm probably only going to play ME3 on the PC. I already grabbed the first two and played through to get my...
I expiremented with ps3 media server for a while and found that the real limitation is your network transfer speed. i found it very hard to stream 1080p content to the ps3, even on a wired connection. after trying this for a while i just ended up using an external drive on the ps3 instead of...
It is exactly the turd that everyone is making it out to be. The high hopes certainly did not help the impression of the game. I found a way to enjoy it enough to make four or five characters up to level 20, but there are glaring issues that keep me from coming back. The graphics are horrible on...
This statement sums up the entire game. I feel the same way. On one hand they implemented some pretty cool things, but they failed in making a good game with replay value. Add to that the glacial pace at which the updates came out and quite a few people are upset with Splash Damage.
I still...
All these analogies are unnecessary. The situation itself is simple enough. These guys are misguided with their attacks on Sony. No one is really disputing that Sony wronged us. Its that the retaliation was not well thought out.
We would probably all support attacking Sony if the attacks hurt...
I agree. They should have protected that data. But leaving something unprotected does not give a person a right to steal it. Nor does it give a person a right to profit from the stolen information. Nor does it wash the hands of the person who stole it. There is no proviso anywhere that states...
In a word, no.
I care that hackers would steal that info, sell it, then claim it is somehow Sony's fault that it was stolen. Could they have protected that information better? Yes. But I don't see it written anywhere that all unsecure information must be stolen as a means to protect it. If...
They haven't been screwing me. I paid for a console and a handful of games. I paid market price and it all works.... so I fail to see why someone like me, an average console gamer, would feel screwed by Sony.
So how have we been screwed, and why should we support continued attacks on Sony's...
Good point, and one that people are missing. Sony was hacked because hackers had beef with them, not because they had weak security. Had it been Microsoft that disgruntled the hackers, they would have eventually "exposed" XBL security. These guys are going to hack whatever they want. The reality...
I'd be pissed just because XBL is a better service. Sure it's paid, but I'm not taking a second mortgage to pay for it. PSN was garbage IMO, mostly because the menu system is unintuitive and there's no party chat. I never got excited to get into an online game on the PS3...
but I know a whole...
I'll admit I haven't been following the whole story, but this stems from Sony not allowing PS3 users to modify consoles right? People were sued, legal battles, and an eventual uproar from gamers (read hackers)?
Im on the fence, but probably because I'm not as invested as some modders...

Didn't see this anywhere else. Interesting story. Apparently Sony is facing an uphill battle with the disgruntled hacking community. We all knew the recent PSN outages were a result of security breaches, but this is going to keep Sony on their heals for quite a while.
I was hoping to...
++ Bethesda has a way of making the buggiest games incredibly enjoyable. You could argue that ESIV, FO3, and FONV ride the same engine, so its expected... but they were involved with Brink as well...
Worth repeating. OP might still enjoy NV. I thought NV was put together much better than...
The game will only reward stars if you attempt the challenges solo. If you do them with other players youll notice that you earn no stars, no rewards, and no unlocks.
So the difficult in the challenges is scaled to your rank (i think, could be your level). I about threw my controller across the room after 20+ attempts to beat "be more objective" on 2 stars. started a new character and breezed right through all the challenges.
If theyre gonna scale...
This is far too much rational logic for this forum. Please add something fictitious, further speculative, or wildly inaccurate to your posts to earn full participation.
I would love if the new patch fixes all the incredibly ridiculous and unforgivable problems in this game. I'm really pulling for the dev team to come through, because I desperately want to enjoy what this game could have been....
....but I have my doubbts.
Wrong. Maybe that is the case in MP but in single player they respawn immediately. It takes them a few seconds to get back to the area, but they get back fairly quick. Not a problem if the spawn point is far enough away but it usually isn't. On one mission enemy AI spawns about 30 feet from an...
Medic class is sooooo broken. One medic can run up on an entire team of downed enemies and have them up in no time. And when one medic revives another medic they all get up even quicker. And its not like you can just outright kill everyone because then they respawn instantly.
Controlling areas...
So... Bioware delays a game so they can tweak some elements to reach a wider market, and that upsets you? They made no mention of what they were wanting to work on. And the multiplayer comment was not from Bioware, it was from a speculative blog writer.
Two things:
1) Mass Effect has...
My guess is they are just trying to tweak some of the action components to improve the fighting. Nothing there really indicates they will take away from the RPG elements.
I think scanning and exploring for elements is just plain broke in the Mass Effect series. If you put aside the fact that...
im at level 26 now and the cazadores and deathclaws are still a challenge, but not if i take them out tactically. with guns at ~70, a .308 hollow point out of a silenced sniper rifle takes down almost all organic targets with one critical hit. the problem comes when the one bullet doesn't take...
my only complaint is the companions still tend to gravitate toward conflict even when set to passive. its bad enough that lily will travel a mile away from me to attack anything, but all the companions walk directly toward enemies instead of following me when i need to retreat.
yup, ps3.
also, expect the same issues that plagued oblivion and fallout 3, like glitches and freezing. its already froze on me at least 3 times. IMO, you just have to learn to live with them from Bethesda. save early, save often, right?
i have to say that the first person point of view is much improved in New Vegas compared to Fallout 3. in FO3, even with high gun skills it was next to impossible to shoot someone manually. in New Vegas the camera is much smoother aiming down the sights. killing without using the VATS system is...
Really enjoyed the demo.. played through 4 or 5 times. I think it'll be a sleeper hit. On XBL there is a developer interview where they talk about westernizing what would have otherwise been a much more eastern feeling game. Tempting to pick up on release day.
