A suppressor is a good idea even with rounds as weak as a 380. I tend to not keep my guns on my desk though; but my weakest gun is a Browning HiPower (9mm) and it's still pretty loud with muffs, and if you'd have to fire it indoors, whoa it'd be painful.
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$1100ish all in.
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
United States, West Michigan...
I always used a dedicated audio system and hooked my computer up to it. I have never had "computer speakers". Even at my work I run a receiver with bookshelves; and some sennheiser buds when people are around (be polite!). I absolutely hate headphones; and it's not for quality but rather I...
I'm running the same setup I've run since early 2009. A 40" Samsung LCD 1080p 60Hz HDTV with two portraited Dell 2209WAs at 1680x1050, well I guess here they're 1050x1680! The sides don't match pixel density wise but it's been acceptable. I'm hoping in the next year to replace it with a 40" 4k...
I've decided to give them to a coworker for her to use at work. She works on a tiny little 19" 4:3 1280x1024 LCD to enter work orders and run reports; so she'd benefit a lot from the upgrade.
Just out of curiousity, what would be the market for two used 2209WAs? They are A00 from a while back. I've used them daily for about 2 years and they are dead silent, have no discoloration or shifting and cosmetically are perfect. I have all packaging, plastic, paperwork and every cable for...
Yay for forward thinking. Someday you'll make some unlucky woman horribly self-conscious and self-loathing.
As far as eyefinity goes, try it. I run a setup with a 40" 1080P TV and 2 22" portraited side panels because I didn't care about eyefinity, but I could've gone with 2 more big TVs and...
No comparison. The C-100s work for low volume near-field listening, but they are just a nice cheap desktop speaker ($100 they are great for new speakers). The C-8s can pump out the volume, have house-pounding bass, and sound leagues better at higher volumes.
If someone were to find a nice...
I'm in the dark most of the time, there are no windows in this room and all the light comes in the form of 2 75W incandescent bulbs. Cable management and carpet soon, can't part with my cube desk though...
Today, me starting my weekend:
It depends on what surround sound, video upconversion and wattage among things. If you want a receiver that will do stuff like DTS-HD Master Audio and have a decent real power output, maybe $250-300 could get you one. I'm going on prices about 6-9 months old. Add in the prices for a starter...
You are looking for audio capture software. I use Total Recorder for little stuff I want audio from(you aren't getting top shelf quality), I use it because a friend had a license he didn't use anymore.
I haven't known anyone whose bought those for PC, but most that bought them on avsforum for even small bedroom speakers wished they'd gone bigger.
You can get a set of Energy C-200s for $150(audioadvisor) that will blow those out of the water. You're better off starting with a better setup...

I primarily web browse, do development in Eclipse and Visual Studio, the maybe 5 hours a month of GTAIV, AutoCAD and typing software docs. I play GTAIV on med settings at 1280x720 on a 40" LCD, so clearly gaming...
I own 2 Dell 2209WAs and 1 Samsung LN40A500. Originally I was going to do tri-40s, but I would be doing too much side to side looking for it to be worth it to me, and I don't do enough gaming to have that full immersion be worth the extra $1500 over the 40 and two 22s.
I see that the OP...
Tell him don't throw s*** around at work. It makes it less of a question of his understanding of technology and more of common sense. Tell him, "this is why we can't have nice things."
Yeah, it's like you said with it zeroing to the wrong spot.
Mine are not directly butted up to my center LCD, but are pretty close(within a few MM, I just don't like scratches on the bezels of them or the TV). There is a little crookedness. Here's a link to a post of mine with photos, LINK
Yep this is not unique. In my review I said that, and after about 6 months of use entirely in the portrait mode, it has not gotten any worse on either of my monitors.
My monitors are at about 5 months of daily use now, still no issues with noise, backlighting or discolorations. The play in the stands' mechanism is unchanged, no worse off.
Just thought to do an update.
Due to my personal experience of dealing with people who have been pissed about broken sets. I don't work retail, but I have seen many a person disappointed later on. You may be fine for 6 months or a year, or even for many happy years, but I have seen more premature failures with them than...
I have a little bit older version of what you are looking it; the Samsung LN40A500 (530 w/ less HDMI ports). Works great and works for me using it as my primary monitor for my PC.
I would go with the Samsung of that bunch because of Vizio's sterling reputation.
We have exactly the same uses. I do programming in VS and other IDEs on a pretty regular basis(15hours a week at home), stock trading and a little bit of gaming.
I run:
L - Dell 2209WA in portrait at 1680x1050.
C - Samsung LN40A500 40" HDTV at 1920x1080.
R - Dell 2209WA in portrait at...
I don't know if this is directed towards me, but yes, I have heard them because I have used them numerous times borrowed from a coworker for use while at work. I like the Beyerdynamic DT-770s already mentioned more.
As others have commented that this isn't a good set of phones relative to cost.
Because of that, I'd consider Dr. Dre's other endorsed product and buy a Dr. Pepper instead.
I don't have much to say as the others seemed to have covered some recommendations.
Harmon Kardon on eBay has good deals quite often on units, such as their stereo receivers; give that a go. H/K is usually pretty conservative on power ratings, so don't be too shocked with some of the low...
What are you looking to get out of this setup?
Do you need HDMI?
Do you plan on using this at all as home theater or is this a dedicated stereo-format listening platform?
What are the dimensions and layout of the area that this setup will occupy(need to find room volume)?
If you don't...
I would say so. An inexpensive set of passive bookshelves can easily cost $150. The real question is, are you satisfied with them? I am not talking about how true they are to the source, how loud they are, what is the frequency range, etc. Not to call you dumb, childish or anything, but I...
I use a 40" 1080P Samsung LN40A500 LCD HDTV as my center and primary monitor and love it. I sit about 2' to 30" away. Due to angling, the side Dell 2209WAs at 1680x1050 seem to display things all tiny at a distance of 3' away.
You get used to the size of the set or you realize you really...
The amount of impurities removed is neglible and testing proves it to be what it is, marketing over performance increase. The freedom of oxygen isn't the issue, but the process used to remove it also gets rid of the iron, which raises impedence, and it's removal offers ultra small benefits...
Dammit, I was going to say Alice Cooper puts on a good show for what you pay.
Before someone else says it, the Dell 2209WA is an excellent monitor for the money.
There's absolutely no way in hell, outside of a crackhead so high they shouldn't be able to know where or why they are selling you a lifted setup, to achieve a 7.1 setup worth more than dog s*** for that price. You'd be stretching the $200 just to get a refurbished or low end receiver. Then...
Old Setup circa 2005 - 2008:
Syntax Olevia LT27HVX LCD HDTV 720P @ 1280x720@60Hz. I know the speakers are crappy powered Bose Companions, but they were free to me and my old, old Pioneer receiver was broken at the time of the photo.
2008 - Now

On my Marantz RC5001SR remote you have to hit AMP before On or Off if you used it to control any other devices. No big deal. Denon and Marantz are owned by the same company, but their products are still independent of each other. However, no one would question sharing the tech in a remote as...
