I have serial loop: res, pump, rad, Apoge HD, pump, rad, GPU res.
Rads are Thermochill 120.3 to cool CPU, Thermochill 120.2 to cool GPU
DDR3.2 + Petras top for above pumps. Pressure and flow are very good, so I'm certain the IHS is the problem.
Ok, I took off the TIM-MATE from Swiftech and replaced it with Antec Formula 7, which according to my googling, requires 200 hours to fully cure.
Even with the fresh layor of Forumula 7, I'm seeing a drop of 2° C, and am now at 66C peak. I did, however, have go back to a -.16 offset, and...
Wow.... Thanks for posting that.
I shouldn't be seeing more than 53C at 4GHz according to what I see on that chart. I'll try a few more experiments, and re-seat my block yet again. This time, I'll use a smaller dab of TIM.
Thanks gents!
I'm using the TIM-MATE that came from Switech.
I'm surprised you think 70C is hot. TMax is 105 on IB, is it not?
Oh, and after posting this, I dropped PLL to 1.66. I'm now at 68C max. Idle is 34C average across the four cores. Core 4 is always the hottest, so perhaps that's a good indication...
A quick search of the forums leads me to believe that no one here is trying to overclock and undervolt their 3750k's.
Last weekend, I upgraded my mobo, ram and processor from an old DFI/Q9550 setup. I know that my needs don't require pushing the processor to the limit, so I decided to...
I fear I will never find another monitor as good as my NEC 20WMGX2. I paiid $800 in 2006 I think. Worth every single dollar. Since then, my eyes have aged and I long for larger pixels and larger text without messing with the windows font sizes.
I suppose reading glasses will have to do...
I have been planning a new build for the upcoming phenomina called Battlefield 3. I almost pulled the trigger on an Asus P67 board this weekend, but decided to wait for the Z68. My reason is very simple: If something should go wrong with my main video card, I can always reset the bios and...
I have a Silverstone ST85F Strider 850W that I bought in 2007. I'm currently running the rig in my sig. However, I'll soon be upgrading to a 2600K and a single GTX580 (haven't determined mobo yet).
According to the specs, my current PSU is plenty capable. However, it's going on 4 years...
I too have the magic NEC 20wmgx2. Wonderful product. I sometimes feel like I won a small lottery by having it, even though I paid a premium for it.
There is some new hope as of late in the form of a new line of Gamer oriented IPS panels from LG. They displayed one of them at CES. No real...
Ok, thanks for the reply. It is a shame really, because it seems that everything about that monitor would be gamer nirvana if not for the rather unsatisfying RTC test results.
Perhaps Hazro could inquire with the panel supplier about this. Perhaps, on their end of the process, they have...
I've been watching this thread for a while. I thought I'd pop in and mention that TFT Central has posted a review of the HZ27Wb:
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/hazro_hz27wb.htm
Everything looks great except for the response time compensation (RTC). Is there a chance that the test...
Ah.... you mean the iPad does it via some software such as:
http://areacellphone.com/2010/07/ipad-must-have-app-turn-into-second-monitor-windows7/
Right?
I can't seem to understand why the obvious killer app hasn't been realised for these new tablets and slates coming to market: Secondary Monitor functionality.
Imagine the following:
You're sitting at your desktop or full-size laptop. To one side sits your handy slate device in a recharging...
The minute they add a video IN port that allows me to use it as a second monitor when, I'm buying one. Imagine being able to use it as a storage device and a second monitor when not being used as a tablet. When you're ready to head out of town, you just yank it out of its holder/charger and...

In fact, one could try the wax + wrap idea on a piece of frosted glass. Much less expensive than trying it on a working LCD, and a sure proof of concept.
I wonder if simply applying plastic wrap (the kind used to protect food) would be all that's needed. If you could apply it with gentle pressure, it might just work and be completely reversible. Something to try, at least.
Altenatively, perhaps apply a layer of wax to the surface followed by...
I am also interested in this topic. Thanks for reviving it.
The one thing I am concerned about for PC gaming using a LCD TV is input lag. After all, a good TV will do some very serous image analysis and preprocessing before displaying it. That translates to rediculous input lag. That's my...
I've been lurking here trying to determine the same thing, CyberMew. Whenever threads get this long it makes me wish for a nice summary page on the very first post that is updated with the latest news and information.
Does the OP even look at this thread now? If so, would a summary of...
Good points, pre1014. I realized last night while I was thinking about this that, knowing myself, I could never leave well enough alone if I had a real HTPC. Just like my gaming rig, I would be looking to spend money on it every year.
There are a few other really interesting things about...
Thanks for the comments, gents. This is the type of feedback I was looking for.
With regards to the PS3, I seriously considered it. I decided that one source of gaming entertainment (my PC) was enough for me. I was afraid I'd be tempted to spend far too much cash on games and controllers...
I recently bought a new blue ray player from LG, the BD390. Not only does it play blue ray movies flawlessly, it has several other unique advantages: Netflix, Vudu, CinamaNow and and Youtube, and since it is DLNA certified, a home media player. I used Nero Home Essentials that came with it...
*sigh*
I was reading the recent comments and noticed the complaints of ghosting on this monitor. I thought I had found a larger screen replacement for my NEC 20wmgx2. Having purchased this monitor many years ago, I find that I'm very spoiled by it. It has set a quality and performance bar...
