well i finally made the switch from nvidia to ati and now i have a quick question about drivers. back with nvidia i always uninstalled old drivers before installing new one, but i read somewhere that for ati cards i should just install over top the old ones. is this sill the best thing to do?

yeah i picked up a 260 for 125 a month back

neither save for an x58 and a 920 thats my vote. it wont be a dead platform in a year

yeah 260 is about right on average.

i also have the asus ramapge ii extreme and noticed that the asus software was reading my temps close to 30 lower than core temp or speed fan, so i stopped using it. 1.35 vcore will push my 920 to around 75 and thats on water. i feel that 1.35 vcore is quite a bit of voltage atleast for a D0

honestly you best bet imo would be to contact a member here for the job. i pretty sure there are alot of people here that would jump at the chance

you cannot change the bus on the 3rd slot. and to correct you earlier statement when you have cards in slot 1 and 2 the third slot runs at 1X

if you look around on the forums i bet you can find a 4870 for close to 115 or so. that would be my advice and def 2x2 ram kit

1.6 for qpi is very high. i run my ram at 1700 and it only requires 1.375

i bench with my tri 260s against my roomates cfx 5870 and he doesnt have a chance vantage 30K+ for me and hes lucky to get a solid run in the 25ks thats with phx off. im just saying in most games i see very close performance

swap out the 640 for a nice 1tb drive thats the only thing id change
