So basically I didn't order the first motherboard on my list it was the ASUS Z97-A ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards Z97-A now the price is $150. Should I wait till the price drops again? or I found this Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 5 LGA 1150 Z97 115dB SNR HD Audio with Built-In Rear Audio...
The GPU that I have is a ASUS GTX 760.
I use after effects, photoshop and lightroom mostly. I also would like to play Dragon Age Inquisition. My old system was a phenom II x4 3.2ghz ati 4870 1gb.
I'm slowly getting all the parts together. What do you all think of below ?
Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 16GB DDR3 1866 Tested Latency: 9-10-9-27 and
ASUS Z97-A ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards Z97-A
Processor i7 4790k on the way
I know wrong page but this would be a huge upgrade for me going from the current cpu and memory to the new? I usually on After Effects/ Photoshop and I wanted to play Dragon Age 3 when it comes out. Lets say I take an hour to render will it cut the hour in half?
I just upgraded to a Seasonic X660 and a Geforce GTX 760. NOW I'm like wanting to upgrade to a i7490K and DDR3 2400. My current is a Phenom II x4 ddr2 for get the speed. Would my x660 be able to run the upgrade to i7?
Hey all I'm back after a few years rebuilding my computer I have a stock PC-A05, The single braded cables look very nice but I don't have windows or lights any benefits? Trying to talk my self out of spending $200 on a set lol. I have my wires tucked pretty good atm.
I have the same setup with the BS-06 installed blowing into the case. It helped some, what helped big time is when I placed the radgrill 2x 120mm fans on the top of my case. My temps droped from 40's to 20-30's.
@one swell foop are you talking about the holes on the tray to access the screws for the cpu mounts? I seen a few people that cut out the area and it give you room if you needed to remount your cpu. Look for it, i don't remember what page. I beleive it is the a05nb not bn?
Thanks for all the help and here is the finished product. I like it so all my temps dropped 10 degrees.

@some1x - How did you get the grill to stick, epoxy? That looks like a very nice low profile way to place the grill. My grill is on it's way so i'm looking at different ways to place it on my case.
Second question, i'm thinking of using it as a vent with no fans. will this work to remove...
I was thinking on a ssd but i picked up a WD Caviar Black WD6401AALS. Drive is quiet and fast. Currently i'm looking to do a dual fan cut on the top but i suck at cutting. trying to figure out how to do it clean lol.
sorry to see you leave the 05B now gtfo, just kidding. the side pannel sucks balz and the door sucks even more. just think that each time you need to access the cd drive or usb, you will need to open the door lol. most of the cases with doors that I have seen are usually left open after a while...
You could order PCI slot vents or like I went the getto way. Removes all the slot covers. I have a BS-03 blowing air onto the area. I do remember once I removed my slot covers the temps did drop. The 03 help drop the temps even more. I don't have a blow hole because my cutting skills suck bad.
I can't find a F2 Bios only a F2B. Do you know which I need to use and what happens if it is a bad bios will the second one kick in or I will have to flash a different bios to get my board to post again? Can I trust this site for the bios...
What CPU HS do you all recommend for this case? I'm currently using my Artic Freezer Pro 64 I had on my 3800 x2. My temps are around 57 when the room is around 88. That hot?
My room temp is around 82-86.
39 with the case closed. My temps went up a few when I install all the sound dampening form sheets, it must hold heat in the case.
I have a Vapor -x 4870 1GB and it is super quiet. the loudest item in my case is my corsair vx550 when i game other then that the...
Here is my mod, other then my sound dampening kit. Temps did not move since I reinstalled the cage and my HD temps are around 39. In the Floppy area the HD would be around 50ish.

I did remove the drive cage. My hard drives while in the 5.25 and floppy bay have increased in heat to 50ish. They had been around 39 in the cage. That is the reason for the mod to remove the bottom of the cage to let the PSU breath. i'Il keep a single strip in place in the back around 1/2...
The mod I'm thinking of is to cut the bottom of the hard drive cage out. giving the PSU fan room for sucking in air. What that work just as good as taking out the drive cage?
I guess the front 120mm fan is not enough to suck out the heat. I will be placing a sound dampening kit into the computer this weekend so I'm have to break it down anyways. I'll try removing the Hd cage and see if that helps and flip the PSU
corsair vx 550 watt, PII x3 BE, 2 x 150 GB HDs. Should I remove the HD cage? Like other people have done? 4 gb gskill ddr800. Most of the heat seems to be in the PUS area.
After installing my new 4870 1gb card my psu gets loud when i game and the case gets warm. What is the best way to help my case get quiet again? cutting holes is not a option, no way of cutting into the case. I have 2 intake fans all are 120mm. It seems the head is mostly around the PSU and...
