Thanks! (because in the OSD this can't be seen - not even in the advanced OSD) So I guess if my replacement (noisy or not) will be a 2009 model then I have at least a new firmware :)

Maybe not at the moment. But maybe they fix it in the future and then it could be useful to know the revision of the fixed model(s).

I'm not sure on this. I have this noise on my 2490 running at 240V. But I could swear that also people from the US (120V) were having this problem here in the forum. I'll get a new replacement in one or two weeks. But I'm sceptical ...

How about the buzzing noise? Does your 2490 display(s) have it too?

On my 2490 it's a bit of both I would say. I can hear it up to 1 meter in front of the display in a pretty quiet room. Not cool.

Of course, the SV models are the same displays bundled with the "SpectraviewII" software and a colorimeter. In Europe you get "Spectraview Profiler" as software which is totally different from the US "SpectraviewII" software.

That's plain wrong. They just stopped the "Spectraview Profiler" software from working with non-SpectraView models.

For this you don't need the advanced menu. Just remember that this isn't a global option but a per-resolution setting. So you need to set it up for each resolution. Of course the display will remember all the settings ...

I agree with you on that. But there was at least one guy here on the forum from Europe who didn't had this noise problem (on his 2690 or 2490). Let's see if my replacement will have the same problem. If it has I think I'll let it "repair" by NEC. Obviously they don't even have new...

Nothing to worry about IMO. Mine is running at 60.1Hz with a GeForce 7600GS.

You are a lucky guy. I got my 2490WUXi last monday here in Germany and it produces noise which I can hear in 1m distance in front of the panel :( Btw: Anybody know where to get the plastic hood in Germany?
