Do they have a personal folder on a server? If so you can get the info there. In the Computer Management menu you go to shares and under it you got a Session menu. As long as they have the folder mapped at login, you will see their username and ip/comp there. a dumb solution but it works

That case is really nice and scince it is for your home it is a nice buy. As for the backplane i saw a few for sale on ebay but you can try to mail norco and ask if the sell a replacement unit for those.

Don't know if the 3548 has the same MTBF (that one is the layer 3 model) but 20 or so years for a switch is nice:D In a ISP we use they still had some 1900 XL in their hosting datacenter......and those are really old......
